No Compromise On Udom's Completion Agenda Says Aniekan Uko

 




The Chairman Akwa Ibom State House Committee on Special Projects , Monitoring,Implementation and Aviation Development, Rt. Hon. Akiekan Uko has stated that the pace at ensuring that projects done by the State Governor are completed within timeline shows non compromise towards the Completion Agenda.

Elder Uko made the assertion while leading members of the Committee on an Oversight function to the New Terminal Building of the Victor Attah International Airport , MRO and the International Worship Centre recently.

"we as a committee are impressed by the effort of His Excellency the Governor  and all that he has done for Akwa Ibom people. 

"as the representatives of the people, we are the ones to come and see things for ourselves and go to tell the people we represent. 

"We have seen, we don't need to ask questions. Starting from the MRO, that one is 95% completed. The International Wing of the Victor Attah international Airport and many other structures are moving at a faster pace. 

He however charged the contractors at the different sites visited to ensure that the deliver the jobs with stipulated time for commissioning by the State Governor.

Taking the Committee round the MRO, the Project Engineer, Engr. Craig and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Udosen Ephraim assured the Committee  that the project will be rounded up before next year. 

At the New Terminal Building, the Project Supervisor, Mr. Ziya Sungur accompanied by the Technical Director, Arc. Daniel Etteh took the members round the terminal for explanation on the designs and assured that the job will be handed over to Akwa Ibom government by December, 2022.

Receiving the Committee at the International Worship Centre, was the Honorable Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Captain Iniobong Ekong(Rtd.) flanked by the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Prof. Augustine Umoh and the State Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice Barr. Uko Udom(Esq.) 

Taking the members round the religious edifice handled by construction giant Julius Berger Nig. Limited , the Project Supervisor, Clive Ecob said the structure is a complicated design and best in east of the Niger that needs time to finetune to  specification and assured the committee that the major aspect of the building will be completed by December this year while the entire structure will be ready for handover by next year before the expiration of the present administration.  

Earlier on, the Committee was received at the MRO which was the first point of call  by Honorable Commissioner for Special Duties, Engr. Bassey Okon and the Project Engineer, Engr. Craig . 

The project is handled by CAMOSA, a construction firm who specializes  in maintenance management services, implementing the continuous airworthiness required of every aviation sector.


Members that accompanied the Committee Chairman to the oversight visit were;Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh, Hon. Ifiok Udoh, Hon. Godwin Ekpo,Rt. Hon. (Otuekong) Emmanuel Ekpenyong Bassey, Rt. Hon. (Otuekong) Essien Nse, Hon. Kufreabasi Edidem and the Clerk of the Committee Mrs. Unwana Idungafa.

AKHA Defers Giving Resolution To Extend Transition Committees..mandates Committee to verify performance of councils

The State governor who communicated his request for the House Resolution dated 6th May 2024 drawing strength from Section 5 sub 2 of the Local Government Administration Law pleaded with the lawmakers to heed to giving the resolution to extend the tenure of Transition Councils as the Commission responsible for conducting elections require an extended time frame.
