Onofiok Wins, Polls 44,830 Votes, Restates Commitment To Effective Legislation

The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr Onofiok Luke, has been declared winner of the Etinan Federal Constituency election held yesterday. Luke who was also the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the Etinan Federal Constituency election emerged winner of the election polling 44,830 votes against his closest rival, Dan Akpan of the All Progressives Congress who scored 15,800 votes. Addressing his supporters on Sunday after being declared winner by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Etinan, Luke assured the people of his readiness to offer them a voice which they can depend on in the National Assembly. Accompanied by his wife, Uduak, his campaign director, Rt. Hon. Anietie Etuk, and the state PDP chairman, Mr Paul Ekpo, Luke thanked his supporters for their sacrifices and their support during the election, saying he would justify the confidence reposed in him by the masses. Breaking: Akpabio Loses To Chris Ekpenyong

If preliminary results as collated and announced is anything to go by, then it can be comfortably said that Senator Godswill Akpabio of the All Progressives Congress, APC has lost his seat to Engr. Chris Ekpenyong who flew the PDP flag. As at the time of filing this report Senator Akpabio had lost in Ukanafun, Oruk Anam, Abak, Etim Ekpo Obot Akara, Ika, Ini and Ikono Local Government Areas. Only the results of Essien Udim and Ikot Ekpene are still awaited and pundits are of the opinion that since votes would still be split by the two contenders, it would be a tall dream for the Senator to use votes from the two LGAs to defeat Chris Ekpenyong. 2019 Presidential, NASS Election: PDP In Early Lead

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may be coasting home to victory as early results have given pointers to an early lead. Some results gotten from numerous polling Units have put the PDP ahead of the All Progressives Congress most especially in Uyo Senatorial District. Results from Etinan Federal Constituency clearly showed Onofiok Luke of the PDP in clear lead ahead of Dan Akpan while OBA was also leading Bafil as shown in preliminary results. Results from Uyo Federal Constituency and Itu/Ibiono Federal Constituency put the PDP ahead of the APC. The Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar was also in clear lead ahead of the incumbent and candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari. 2019 Polls: Fairly Fair, Few Cases Of Voilence As Candidates, Voters Await Outcome(See Pics Too)

The Presidential and National Assembly elections finally held today after it was shifted for one week by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) where issues with logistics were cited as reasons. As observed by our Reporter, voter turnout was impressive compared to previous elections while material also arrived early. Casting of ballots was also concluded in majority of the Units visited. However some Units were yet to receive materials as at time of visit while few cases of violence were also reported. Below are tit bits of happenings around some polling Units across Akwa Ibom State. Breaking: Ibom Air Touches Down A'Ibom Tomorrow

In his avowed commitment to continue drive positive investment while also putting Akwa Ibom State in limelight, Governor Udom Emmanuel will tomorrow, Wednesday receive two of the three aircrafts acquired for the state airline, Ibom Air. This disclosure was made during during a consultation visit to former Governor Victor Attah in his Shelter Afrique residence in Uyo. The Governor said the aircrafts which will soon commence commercial activities to Lagos and Abuja  have currently landed in Lagos for necessary clearance from the nation's air authorities. He used the occasion to invite Obong Attah to the ceremony, which he said was a fulfilment of the former Governor's vision in aviation development in the state, adding that the third aircraft was expected to arrive in few days.

Economic Vibrancy, Development: Attah Thumbs Up Udom, Seeks Successful Second Term

A former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah has scored Governor Udom Emmanuel high for instituting sound economic blue print that would fast track the development of Akwa Ibom state.
