PLOT TO BLACKMAIL IMMEDIATE PAST DEPUTY SPEAKER BY POLITICAL JOBBERS UNCOVERED ….. AS OKOBO PDP WARD LEADERS REAFFIRM VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON POLITICAL LEADER, BLAST SPONSORS OF ALLEGED SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST THEIR LEADER

An orchestrated smear campaign and manufactured lies purported sponsored by some inconsistent and idle politicians in Okobo local government  area in order to blackmail the immediate past two terms  deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Political leader of Okobo, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey  and  give her a wounding image before the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has been uncovered.

In the early hours of Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the attention of the Honorary Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure Maintenance was drawn to a cocktail of lies and malicious blackmail- laden yet to be published article alleged to emanate from some funny political jobbers from Okobo Local government Area who cried foul  and lazily laboured in vain to claim that she  and the Member representing Okobo State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey  have hijacked the ongoing Construction work  for a Model School Project In Government School, Okobo.

May be it is because as the Political leader of Okobo Local Government Area, she was able to mobilize support from the Youth, elders and stakeholders to enable the project to be executed devoid of fracas or vandalization.

It is also shocking, confounding  and laughable to  realize  that  these elements could go extra miles by  linking  the immediate Past Deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly with the Governorship aspiration of one of the PDP contenders in the 2023 PDP Governorship Election Primaries  when Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey was the Coordinator of Pastor Umo Eno & Senator Akon Eyakenyi  2023 Governorship Campaign Committee in Okobo Local Government Area.

Struggling in vain to say that Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey has been crowded with political offices and should not be patronized with any political office by the Governor amongst other mindless allegations,

It must be clearly stated here that these set of politicians are known for their wild and libelous assertions, especially when it is obvious that they cannot clip the wings and the rising political profile of a woman with an unblemished record of dedicated service who has been very sincere and consistent in her loyalty, support and delivery and as someone who is always standing in the gap for successive governments whenever the need arises.

Though  ordinarily, we would have ignored their rantings or consign their usual blackmail to the trash bin of history. But to put the general public on notice to discard such publications if seen  and the Security agencies on alert, we decided to uncover their plot.

Meanwhile, the forum of Okobo PDP Ward Leaders led by Hon. (Chief) Okokon Okpo has faulted the recent move by some persons in Okobo expected to be leaders who hide under politics and engage on the most senseless and needless smear campaign against their political leader, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey.

Expressing their deep worries and disappointment over the worrisome activities of these fair weather politicians in their area, the forum threatened to mention the names of the author of the uncovered blackmail article and the financier if they don’t refrain from such campaign of calumny and character assassination.

We wish to very specially commend and salute the  doggedness, ingenuity, sincerity of purpose and consistency of  the immediate Past  two -term Deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State  House of Assembly and  Political Leader of Okobo Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey, now the Honorary Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructural Maintenance , for mobilizing both human and material resources, through  the support of Ward leaders and Ward Chairmen to secure overwhelming victory for all the PDP Candidates in the 2023 General elections.

We recalled that In the face of intimidating challenges, waves of discouragement and forces of opposition even from those who  preferred to remain in PDP  and work against the  success of PDP,  Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey as the then Okobo Local Government Area Coordinator of Pastor Umo Eno & Akon Eyakenyi Governorship  Campaign Committee, demonstrated capacity, resilience and unusual courage to ensure Okobo secured the  highest number of Votes  for PDP in 2023 and retains its position as the vote basket of Oro Nation.

Today,  looking at this glorious beginning, we are super- excited  and we can move around with our heads high that the project we believed in and sincerely worked for is beginning to yield positive dividends through the benevolence of His Excellency.

In view of  her proven  leadership  track-record, capacity, Consistency and transparency in ensuring equitable distribution of political offices across the  10 Wards of Okobo, we hereby, unanimously pass a vote of confidence on the Political Leader of Okobo Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia A. Bassey( ITAI ORO).

In the same vein, we wish to commend the Honourable Member Representing OKobo State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey for his quality representation, robust legislative engagement and frequent interface with his Constituents.
