Lawmakers of the Akwa Ibom State State House of Assembly have condoled with Governor Udom Emmanuel over the demise of his father, Late Elder Gabriel Emmanuel Nkanang.
The Parliamentarians in a condolence letter signed and presented to the Governor by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, at Awa Iman, Onna LGA, described the death of the Governor's Father as an irreparable loss to the deceased family.
The Assemblymen noted that Late Elder Nkanang was a teacher whose bank of knowledge has produced many leaders.
"Ette Teacher as your Late Father was fondly called, was a revered educator whose wealth of knowledge has produced several leaders".
While describing the Late nonagenarian as a man whose unbridled passion for the work of God earned him the blessings and strength to live to a fulfilled life of 90 years, the lawmakers urged the Governor and the entire family to be consoled by the fact that his late father left ineffaceable prints on the sands of time for others to follow.
They further pointed out that the Late Nkanang instilled lofty qualities in Governor Emmanuel who through his unassuming nature, pragmatic and leadership style, have helped place Akwa Ibom State on a high pedestal.
