Akpanusoh Celebrates Birthday With Constituents...Donates Palliatives To Cushion Covid-19 Effect



As part of events to mark his 49th birthday celebration, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Rural Development and Public Utilities, Dr Usoro Akpanusoh, representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency, has donated food items worth millions of Naira to aid the fight against COVID-19.

While supervising the distribution of the items at his Constituency Office in Uquo, Esit Eket Local Government Council, Dr Akpanusoh lauded the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for his steadfastness and commitment to curbing the global pandemic by approving the immediate “construction of 300-Bed Space Isolation Centre and for prompt distribution of Relief Materials to help cushion the effect of COVID-19 in the State.”

He prayed God to continually guide Governor Emmanuel, give him the wisdom and enablement to lead the people of Akwa Ibom State

Speaking about his birthday, the two-term member of the State House of Assembly, said “God’s faithfulness towards me has been unparalleled, irrespective of the COVID-19 pandemic and its frightening reality. I am eternally grateful to God Almighty.”

He also used the occasion of his birthday celebration to thank his constituents, the people of Esit Eket and Ibeno, for their support, solidarity and show of love, saying “I am firm today because I know that anything under God’s control is never out of control. And this is my prayer for Akwa Ibom State. God is in control of the situation. Remain firm and faithful to God. I urge you all to stay safe and adhere strictly to the directives of government regarding the global pandemic, corona virus (COVID-19).”

In his response, on behalf of Esit Eket and Ibeno Local Government Councils, the Vice Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Hon. Sunday Isokobo, expressed appreciation to Dr Akpanusoh for his immeasurable donations and prayed “for long life and more of God’s blessings to you and your family.”

“On behalf of your constituents and Members of Covid-19 Committee, I thank you for this act of love. What you have done today goes to reaffirm your promise that you will not abandon us,” he added.

Items distributed included Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), cartons of noodles, bags of Rice, packs of seasoning, beverages, and cash support to selected Persons.

The event was witnessed by constituents, elders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the two local government areas including Hon. Sunday Isokobo, Hon. Ime Robson, Evangelist Issangedighi Imossan, Chief Eyo Etteudo, Hon. Mkpong Issangedighi, Hon. Sunday Tom, Prince Akan Etteudo, Akparawa Uyoata Assam, Hon. Sam. Eyo, Hon. Rosaline Thompson, Mr. Isaac Amanam, Comrade Victor Ibok, among others.
