APC WILL TAKE OVER AKWA IBOM IN 2023 –APC Chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress

(APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Ambassador Engr. (Deacon) Kufre Ekong Inyang, has called on all loyal members of the party in Akwa Ibom State never to lose hope in the possibility of the party taking over the State, but to continue to keep pace and faith with leadership of the party at both state and national levels as it builds stronger bridges towards 2023.

Engr. Kufre Inyang who is one of the pillars of APC in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of the State, gave the encouragement and prediction over the weekend when some journalists paid him an unscheduled visit at his residence in Ibiaku Ikot Usen, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, on the status of the APC in his local government and its prospects.

Engr. Inyang, a UN-POLAC Ambassador of Peace, stated that, with the stellar performance of President Muhammadu Buhari in all critical sectors of the economy since 2015, in addition to the bold steps and  the impressive impact the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency , Sen. Godswill Akpabio is creating at the national level through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the APC, like never before, is becoming more popular, acceptable and appealing to Akwa Ibom people who are already warming up in support of whoever shall emerge the party’s candidate in 2023.

“One characteristic you cannot take away from the APC is its courage and ability to stay afloat and keep its house intact in spite of challenges. My thinking has always been had the 2019 election in the state been allowed to be free and fair, without the obvious manipulations that characterised it as one of the worst rigged elections in recent history of the State, by today, Obong Nsima Ekere, a tested technocrat and seasoned administrator whom Akwa Ibom people freely voted, would have been the one in the Government House, and the difference would have been without any contest.

"However, as it turned out, in the spirit of patriotism and democracy which Obong Nsima Ekere and the APC champion, we all believe that there is always another time. But the fact, like Bob Marley once said, remains that he who fights and runs away shall live to fight another day. APC is still on course", he assured.

The party stalwart sounded the warning that it would be a great error of judgement and risk for anybody within or outside to imagine that the APC in Akwa Ibom State or at any of its many local chapters is in any crisis; a miscalculation he of course said will be to the utmost advantage of the APC as socio-political events continue to unfold towards the next governorship and general elections in the State and country.

From the fall out of the Local Government elections in Akwa Ibom State where PDP ignored internal democracy and handpicked those they prefered, many of those aggrieved PDP Members will identify with the broom revolution in 2023.

Commenting on the Local Government Elections in Akwa Ibom State, which the APC had decided not to participate, the UNPOLAC ambassador further  hinted that  it would have been a disservice to democracy and Akwa Ibom people for APC to partake in what has already been programmed and the results already determined by the wielders of power in the state.

According to him, “All tenets and protocol of democracy were disregarded and trampled upon by those desperate for power.  The wielders of power in the State already can tell you today who is going to win and who is going to lose. It’s strictly a matter of selection and not election and APC cannot participate in such a scam which outcome can easily be ascertained even by a stranger to the state”, he stated.

Now that the results have been released, every eye can now see why Akwa Ibom People should not have confidence in PDP.

Engr. Ekong Inyang,a grassroots mobilizer  also regretted and sympathized with the biological and political families of the former State Chairman of APC, late Mr. Ini Okopido, over his death, describing it as a great loss and the deceased as true party man, astute politician and bridge-builder whose legacies for the party, state, and nation shall never be forgotten.

He however called for caution in how affairs pertaining to the leadership of the APC after the painful demise of Okopido was handled as such may mar or make stronger steps the APC desires to take henceforth.

The Ibiono strong man summarily called on Akwa Ibom people who choked in the present administration of the state to keep cool, support the APC and President Buhari and  look forward to 2023 for the real government of the people which in his words, "only APC can make it to happen in Akwa Ibom State".
