2022 Birthday: A'Ibom Info Commissioner, Uyo LG Boss, Ors Eulogise Ime Okon






Family members, associates and friends of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate for Itu/Ibiono Ibom House of Representatives election in 2023; Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ime Bassey Okon, have continued to celebrate God's faithfulness in the life of the Ikot Usen in Ibiono Ibom law luminary on his birthday.


The latest message of felicitations came from his kinsman and the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy; Comrade Ini Ememobong, who eulogized the former Deputy Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly as he clocks 62 and prayed God to grant his (Ime) heart desires. 


On the list of those who expressed their good wishes to the celebrator on his special day was the Vice Chairman, Uyo Local Government Council; Hon. (Pst.) Sylvia Ekong.


The Clergywoman-cum- politician, in the birthday message she signed, described Obong Okon as a refined politician with proven records of loyalty, dedication and one blessed with much kind heart towards the development of his people.


She added that the streams of honour flowing on the way of the Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, was a clear testament of his matchless legislative prowess which he brought to bear while representing Ibiono Ibom people in the House of Assembly between 2011 and 2019. 


Other eminent personalities who identified with the birthday man,  wished him more years of good health, peace, greater impacts to humanity and the society.


Meanwhile; Okon, was born on 22nd August, 1960. The successful legal practitioner is married for 31 years now to Deaconess Victoria Ime; an official of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, UNIUYO Chapter and the marriage is blessed with three highly intelligent male children; Daramfon, Emaediong, Mmenie-Abasi.


Okon was conferred with the Chieftaincy title of 'Utenghe Ibiono Ibom,' by the current Paramount Ruler of the area; HRM Edidem (Dr) Ime Udo Usoro Inyang JP. He is a grassroots politician; one-time Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, immediate-past member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and was appointed Chairman, Akwa Ibom State College of Science and Technology, Nung Ukim Ikono, Ikono LGA.


Barr. Okon resigned his last appointment to contest the just concluded primary election of the PDP for Itu/Ibiono Ibom House of Representatives race where he won convincingly.


The Ibiono Ibom man's passion in serving humanity is extraordinary and many on his birthday, have described him as integrity and humility personified.
