Ahead 2023 Elections, Aniekan Bassey Receives Royal Blessings




As preparation for the 2023 general election gears up, the Senatorial bid of the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, on Wednesday received support and royal blessings from the Nsit Atai Local Government Traditional Rulers Council and stakeholders.


The Speaker received the support and blessings during his consultation tour to the traditional rulers council and critical stakeholders of the area.


He was prayed for by the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Edidem Peter Okon Effiong, and his Council of Chiefs, led by the Chairman of the Clan Council, Chief Mfon Sunday Essien.


Explaining his mission, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and the 2023 Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District said his visit was to notify the monarch and stakeholders of Nsit Atai Local Government Area of his readiness to represent them at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.


He lauded the monarch and people of Nsit Atai for the honour done him and for the support extended to him and candidates of the PDP, pointing out that “Nsit Atai has been a home away from home for me.”


The Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial Candidate of the PDP, who was accompanied on the visit by the party’s candidates for Uyo/Ibesikpo Asutan/Nsit Atai/Uruan Federal Constituency, Elder Mark Esset, and Nsit Atai State Constituency, Prince Aniefiok Attah, was unanimously supported by stakeholders of the area.


Amongst the stakeholders at the event were the Political Leader of the Area and Commissioner for Housing, Otuekong Raphael Bassey; the Local Government Council Chairman, Lady Emem Ibanga; the Deputy State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Lawrence Udosen; South-South Zonal Officer of the PDP, Hon. M. C. Akpan; Hon. Abasiakan Eshiet; Obong Emmanuel Okon (Eminence), and Barrister Peter Andem.


The Speaker was accompanied to Nsit Atai by the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Monday Eyo; Director General and Secretary of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District Campaign Council, Obong Godwin Awah and Hon. Ofonmbuk Ukim; the International Coordinator of RHAB-Mega Movement, Dr Eventus Edem; Obong Augustine Effiong.
