Coalition of Democrats Drum Support for President Tinubu, Gov Eno, Senator Akpabio

In a show of solidarity and statesmanship, some stakeholders under the agis of Coalition of Democrats (CODE), has stated their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Pastor Umo Eno and Senator Godswill Akpabio, going by their display of good governance towards the sustainability of democracy in the country.

  This was contained in a communique read by the National Coordinator of the group, Barr Usenobong Akpabio while briefing the Press yesterday 24th April at Kiniz Apartments in Uyo.  While commending the President Tinubu over the recent flag off of the Akwa Ibom section of the coastal highway project amongst others, Barr Akpabio noted that "This is one of Mr President’s strategic economic reforms that is already setting Nigeria in the path of economic recovery/ prosperity and political development"  

He commended Governor Umo Eno for his visionary stewardship and unifying approach to governance and his introduction of the politics of unity amongst the major political parties; timely, bold and genuine objective declaration of total support for the second term of President, Bola Tinubu as well as intentional execution of developmental projects in the State through the ARISE Agenda of his government.  





"CODE commended the State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno Ph.D, leader of PDP Akwa Ibom State for his unfeigned humility and visionary stewardship to the State, his unifying approach to governance thus repositioning the state to achieve more in all areas within the last two years of his administration; example, the first of its kind State unity visit to the President"  

They also applauded the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio for prioritising the development of the State above his personal interest.  "CODE unanimously applauds the Senate President and Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South/South geopolitical zone, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio GCON, for his superlative, purposeful and result oriented leadership disposition by prioritising the development of the State above personal interest through his collaboration, synergy and total support to the State Governor". 

 While acknowledging the role of the Senate President in the strategic political placement of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria Political space, they urge Akwa Ibomites to support the decision of the Governor who is the leader of the state in endorsing the President, Bola Tinubu and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio for second term.  

They also commended the President for appointing sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom into various federal agencies and requested for delineation of State/Federal constituencies in line with the provision of the constitution of 1999 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended; which is long overdue, expedite action on the actualization of Ibom Deep seaport project, adequate funding and completion of Calabar/Itu Federal highway and regularization and commencement of operation by Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON), Ikot Abasi Akwa Ibom State.  

Speaking during the briefing of newsmen, the Secretary General of Coalition of Democrats (CODE), Rt Hon Usoro Akpanusoh, said the cardinal objectives of the group include amongst others, good governance, progress and political unity & oneness and reaffirmed the willingness of the group to collaborate with other well-meaning individuals and organisations of like minds both within and outside the State for proper consolidation of the RENEWED HOPE and Arise Agenda of President Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno respectively.
