Ibom Golf Club Lights Up Uyo With 3 Days Golfing Experience

Preparations are in top gear by Ibom Golf Club to host a 3 day golfing Tournament. The even according to the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Rt. Hon. Usenobong Akpabio would span for three days from 6th to 8th of June 2025.

While briefing Journalists at the Ibom Golf and Country Club, Rt. Hon. Akpabio stated that the Ibom Open would draw golfers from all over the world which would in turn positively impact on the tourism sector and Akwa Ibom as the destination of Golf in Africa.

Rt. Hon. Akpabio who is a former Captain of the Club said that tournament would hold at the Arise Golf Course for the first day and the Ibom Golf Course, the only Golf Resort in West Africa for the second day adding that numerous prizes would be won including return tickets for winners.

Also making remarks, the Captain of the Club, Mr. Isua Archibong the State requires instruments like Golf tournaments to serve as tourism drivers to aid boost the State's economy.

On her part Aniekan Essienete representing Ibom Air, one of the sponsors noted that Ibom Air is proud to be part of tournament as it will make access possible, conveying golfers in and out of the State to participate in the tournament. She stated that Ibom Air would be donating towards 3 prize categories which would also include premium return tickets for winners.


Iniobong Akai who represented Ship Afrika who are also sponsors of the tournament said the company which believes in collaboration and exercising Corporate Social Responsibility was proud to be part of the event which he noted is one of the instruments to raise the tourism potentials of the State.

It would be recalled that Ibom Open held last year had 172 golfers while this year would have over 300 golfers from around the world participating.
