Fake ASP Apprehended As A'Ibom Police Burst Rape Syndicate


A fake Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kingsley Udoyen, was yesterday, Thursday paraded before journalists by Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Kimo at the Command's Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia.

Udoye, who claimed he was sacked from the Force in 2006 as Superintendent of Police while serving in Alagbon, Lagos State, admitted parading himself as ACP, adding that his girlfriend, who is a serving Police woman and  who has also been arrested, procured the uniform and ranks for him.

 The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Musa Kimo said that Udoyen had until his arrest at No. 3 Stadium Road, Abak, used the fake ACP position to defraud and threatened unsuspecting members of the public.

He said a search in his house led to the recovery of "one English pistol without magazine and ammunition, portraits of Chief Superintendent of Police and Assistant Commissioner of Police, three pairs of uniformd Police belt, fake Police ID card, and other documents."

Also paraded was  one Joseph Effiong, 29 years of age, from Ikono LGA, serving as a security man at Royal City Central Chapel Church, Uyo, who lured one little miss Mfoniso Nse Okon, 4 years old to an uncompleted building and defiled her on 13th January, 2019.

Other achievement recorded was the arrest of one Joseph Sunday Essien of Ifa Ikot Obong, who defiled his 13-year-old step-daughter, while on 13th January, 2019, one Edet Inyang  Edem was arrested for defiling a 10-year-old minor, and thereafter abandoned the victim at Use Offot market square in Uyo.

Arrest of Odudu Emem Hanson, ‘m’ on 20th January, 2019 for robbing one Bright Uffi Okpoyo ‘f’ of No.1 Ebet Aya Street of cash, phone and other valuables. Arrest of 8 cultists, namely: Ukeme Etim Udosen, Victor Isaiah Joshua, Kingsley Aniedi Sampson, Ndifreke Bassey Isaac, Samuel Friday Nnana, Idongesit Effiong Asuquo, David Nicodemus Effiong, Daniel Aniedi Nnana, all male, members of Iceland Marine Patrol (IMP) at Udemy plaza, Ekom Iman Junction on 9th January, 2019, who attacked and almost murder one Uduak Willie Bob ‘m’ of Ikot Oku Ikono village in Uyo LGA." The Commissioner of Police told newsmen.

Others included "Arrest of a Murder suspect, one Emmanuel Tom ‘m’ who stabbed one Imeobong Effiong ‘m’ on 20th of January, 2019 at Mbiakpan Ikot Idim in Ibiono Ibom LGA. Arrest of Victor Effiong, Gregory Sam both male and Chichi Okoro Jackson ‘f’ who specialize in using keke to rob their victims within the metropolis, suspects were arrested in an attempt to defraud their 3rd victim one NdianaAbasi Isaiah Akpan ‘f who was diverted from her route and taken to an uncompleted building, opposite Akpan Andem market in Uyo LGA. Arrest of one Joseph Akpanowo ‘m’ on 18th January, 2019 who stole his daughter, little Miss Goodness Joseph, one (1) year four (4) months old and sold her to one Nyakno Uwa ‘f’ residing at Port Harcourt at the rate of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (N150,000.00). During investigation, the sum of one hundred and twenty-five thousand, five hundred naira (N125, 500.00) being part of the proceeds was recovered from him.

x. Arrest of 3 Child Stealing syndicate, namely: Nsikak Sunday Akpan, Uduak Okon Effiong both male  and Itohowo Godwin Akpan ‘f’ who snatched one little Miss Blessing Otobong Benson, aged one (1) year, three (3) months old at Ekom Iman Junction. The kingpin of the syndicate, Nsikak Sunday Akpan took operatives of the Command to Okija in Anambra State where another 3 year old girl who was snatched by the same gang at Mbierebe village at Ibesikpo Asutan LGA sometime in December, 2018 was recovered in a motherless baby home waiting to be sold, the parents of the baby were traced and the baby was reunited with the family and are here today.

xi. Arrest of 3 Robbery suspects, namely one Emmanuel Ita Oboho, Edidiong Ime Lazarus and Idongesit Okon  Effiong, all male who robbed one Divine Jonah ‘f’ of the sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00), along UBA Aka Road, Uyo LGA.

xii. Arrest of Murder suspect, one Ekpeno Edet ‘m’ who killed a security man attached to Badusen Hotel, sometime in December, 2018 at Itam in Itu LGA. During investigation, suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned his gang leader to be one Olu Ariyo Amos ‘m’. On 15/1/2019, operatives of the Command swung into action and in an attempt to arrest the gang leader in Ikot Ekpene LGA, suspect engaged operatives on gun battle where he sustained bullet wounds and gave up the ghost while receiving treatment. One locally made, four live cartridges and a machete were recovered.

xiii. Arrest of 3 Robbery Suspects namely, one Itoro Ambrose Dan, Uwem Chris Davis and Aniekan Friday Idiong, all male at Kilimanjaro eatery for robbery. Instant search led to recovery of five GSM phones.

xiv. Arrest of one Odudu Emem Hanson ‘m’, a leader of A-5 man gang who used keke in their operation in robbing their victims. They trailed and robbed one Bright Uffi Okpoyo ‘f’ and Mfoniso Samuel Umoh of No. 1 Ebet Aya Street, Uyo of their valuables while returning home from their place of work.

xv. Arrest of Enobong Nsikak Sunday, Mary Okon Bassey and Gertrude Thompson Akpan, all female who stole one little Miss Confidence Aniefiok Ita ‘f’. Suspects also tricked one Emem Wanakwo ‘f’ and collected her two (2) children on the pretense of taking the children to Governor Udom’s wife to give them aid. The children were recovered and reunited with their parent. Case has been charged to court.

xvi. Working in synergy with the Nigerian Army, seven (7) Vandals, namely: Adamu Bala, Rabiu Abdulahi, Salisu Ali Yakubu, Ifeanyi Innocent Ogoke, Abdullahi Ali, Bassey Onoyom, Aniefon Samuel Umoren, all male, were arrested on 27th December, 2018 at Mbak Atai Itam, Itu LGA in an attempt to smuggle out three (3) trucks loaded with iron metals suspected to have been vandalized from Nigerian Newsprint Manufacturing Company (NNMC), Oku Iboku in Itu LGA. Suspects have been arraigned in court. 

xvii. In collaboration with the NSCDC, one Inspr. Emmanuel Sampson 'm' attached to Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, and Kufre Elijah Okon, Daniel Okon Udom, Maurice Cosmos Akpan, Henshaw Ini Peter and Daniel Isaac Omnipotent, all male and staff of Teskom Guards Security, situated at No. 15BB Way, Uyo LGA who Vandalized four (4) 300/33/0.415 KV transformers, valued eighteen million naira (#18,000,000.00) at Switch yard, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo were arrested. During investigation, operatives recovered the sum of one million, ten thousand naira (#1, 010,000.00) being proceeds of the stolen transformer, the matter has been charged to court"
