Council Boss Runs Amok...Shuts down Party Secretariat...Disrupt Monthly Women Prayer Summit

The centre can no longer hold in Nsit Atai Local Government Area as the council boss Miss. Emem Ibanga has taken her power tussle to another dimension by shutting down the Peoples Democratic Party Secretariat in the area for over two months now devoid of any show of remorse.
According to PDP supporters in the area who pleaded anonymity to our reporter who visited the Party Secretariat to ascertain the claims, the council boss was confirmed to have put the Party Secretariat under lock and key for fear of being handed over a vote of  no confidence by the Party, having recognised the clear fact that she has disappointed her people.

According to an indigene of the area, Etim Uwem, said "the council boss has killed the very essence of democracy because the council under her watch is adjudged the worst as the Secretariat has turned to forest where animals live due to the overgrown bush seen everywhere".

"Why would somebody with a sane mind lock up the entire party office in the name of power play? Its annoying" he voiced out.

The council boss is also accused of trying to stop the monthly women prayers arranged by the wife of the member for Nsit Atai State Constituency, Mrs Dorcas Mark Esset.

The women who before now use to hold their monthly prayer in the Party Secretariat, have not been able to do so as the Secretariat has been under lock and key on the alleged orders of the Council Boss.

Since the Party Secretariat was locked, the women now decided to use an ancient brickwall hall in Odot for the religious convoke, but a day to the prayer which was yesterday Tuesday, the council boss started calling some of the women through some of her loyalist to warn them not to go on with the prayer, else she will disrupt it.

Still determined to disrupt the prayer meeting, she called the man who brought musical instruments for the event and threatened not to even connect it, else the instrument will be vandalized, a situation that made the man to evacuate with his instruments for safety.

According to our reporter who was at the venue to ascertain the authenticity of the claims, the prayer that was held on Wednesday was without musical instrument and any lighting as the women sang and clapped with their voice and hands till the end of the prayers.

Some women who condemned the action, wondered why a Chairman who attends all government house women prayer will disrupt the one of the local government she superintends .

As at the time of filling this report, majority of Nsit Atai people have openly expressed their displeasure on the tenure of Emem Ibanga describing her as an opportunist who was forced on them.

Efforts to reach the Chairman for her reaction proved abortive as her line was constantly busy and also no where to be found in the Council Headquarters.
