PDP Congress: Akwa Ibom Speaker Advocates Political Inclusiveness To Structures




The Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aniekan Bassey has called for inclusive leadership at all levels of party structures in Uruan LGA and the State at large for a more formidable front.

The number three citizen in the State gave the charge today during the Chapter Congress of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Uruan LGA.

"I want to thank Uruan people for the decorum exhibited during the last Ward Congress. It was impressive and I urge all to keep the tempo.

"PDP is running an inclusive leadership and I urge the new Executive to follow suit. I promise that everyone will be given a sense of belonging and the umbrella open to accommodate all."

The Speaker, advocated for a healthy sportsman's spirit in politicking in the area and encouraged the people to always extend hands of fellowship to one another despite any political outcome whether in their favour or not so the Party can be advanced.

He went further, using himself as an example which he immediately after elections extended hand of fellowship to all whether in support of his course or not, believing time calls on everyone's destiny per time.

Also harping on peace and brotherhood amongst party faithful, the Speaker urged everyone to play politics devoid of  hatred as perceived rivalries turn to allies in victories.

Meanwhile, Congress through its electoral process returned the following as members of the Chapter Executive to take over from the current executive after its dissolution on April 30, 2020.

Sebastian Edet Nkanga as Chapter Chairman.  

The highpoint of the congress was the inauguration of the new Executive Members by the PDP returning officer, Mr. Emmanuel Titus and the process duly supervised by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chapter Chairman, Mr. Sebastian Edet Nkanga on behalf of his team thanked everyone for deeming him and other members fit to run the party leadership at the LG level. He sought for cooperation and advice to move the party forward. He concluded that the umbrella is wide enough to accommodate everyone. The new PDP Chapter Chairman, Uruan LGA also promised to run an inclusive government during his tenure.
