Dr. Ini Adiakpan Congratulates A’Ibom First Lady on Double Media Awards...As A’Ibom Women are in jubilant Mood

The double awards of First Lady of the Year (National) in Social Welfare for Women and First Lady of the Year (South-South) in Educational Development given to the Wife of Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Martha Udom Emmanuel, by Daily Independent Newspaper has warmed the heart of the Hon. Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr.Ini Adiakpan, even as all Akwa Ibom women have been observed to be in ceaseless jubilation ever since the award winner was announced.

In a swift and encouraging message of felicitation to Her Excellency titled, “Honour Well-Deserved”, signed on behalf of Akwa Ibom women and her ministry, Dr.Ini Adiakpan said the recognition came with a profound sense of delight and calls for celebration because such award coming from no other organization but a brand like Independent Newspaper that has a panache for quality speaks volume and is therefore meritorious for a First Lady in the pedigree of Dr. (Mrs) Martha Emmanuel.

Describing the Governor’s Wife who is also the architect of FEYReP as “a quintessential woman of substance, a paragon of womanhood, epitome of social justice and emancipation, symbol of unity and fountain of hope”, Dr. Adiakpan also stated that the award could not have come as surprise to Akwa Ibom women, but an icing on the cake of Her Excellency’s selfless commitment to the growth, development and empowerment of women, youth, and humanity at large through the instrumentality of the Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path Initiative (FEYReP) in the past six years.

“Through the instrumentality of FEYReP as your innovative brainchild, you have lifted millions from poverty, sponsored thousands in schools, built houses for widows across the State, and impacted on the wider society across all demography”, a visibly excited Dr. Adiakpan stated.

The Women Affairs Commissioner also appreciated the Governor’s wife for her genuine and untiring support to her husband and Governor of the State, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel. This she said has had Her Excellency’s bold footprints on both the Divine Mandate and Completion Agenda of the present administration, which is today a recurrent subject of discourse in people-inclined leadership at national and international circles.

Adiakpan said: “Indeed, the double honour by Independent Newspaper is an eloquent testimony of your altruism beyond Akwa Ibom State, being perhaps the First time a First Lady in Akwa Ibom State or elsewhere in the South-South geopolitical region would be recognized simultaneously at both regional and national levels for her outstanding humanism”.

As Akwa Ibom Women and the entire State roll out drums to celebrate this Amazon and a compassionate woman of international reckon, Dr. Adiakpan therefore prayed on behalf of the women and children especially those who have benefitted from her pet-project and related acts of goodwill, that the Good Lord continue to supply, protect and guide Her Excellency to “break more grounds for more wards”.

The Women Affairs Commissioner also lauded the ingenuity and gender- sensitivity of Governor Udom Emmanuel Emmanuel in his inclusive leadership as witnessed in the election and appointment  of greater number of Akwa Ibom Women into various  political positions.

Adiakpan thanked the Governor for the various  opportunities he has given to the Women to contribute to the socio-economic development of the State and registered the solidarity,Support and loyalty of Akwa Ibom Women to his Completion Agenda.

According to organizers of the event, the award presentation took place on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Transcorp Hillton Hotels, Abuja.
