Etim Okon Usanga Ecological Project Intervention Excites AKHA House Committee..Construction firm targets December 2024 Completion Date




The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has commended the State Government for the prompt response to the Etim Okon Usanga Erosion site, an intervention Project to rescue major structures in the environment from total collapse.


The Chairman of the Committee and Member Representing Okobo State Constituency, Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey  who gave this commendation during an oversight inspection of the Ecological site also gave kudos to Bulletin Construction Company for working hazardously to ensure that the intervention is achieved and in record time.


Hon. Bassey stressed that the essence of the inspection by the Committee is to ensure that the work done is environmentally friendly and does not cause more damage to the environment.


He urged the company to put adequate measures in place to ensure that natural disasters that will destroy the environment does not occur.


The Managing Director of Bulletine Construction Company, Chief Faysal Harb   while receiving the Committee explained that the Ecological site at Etim Okon Usanga is to be christened the "ARISE PARK", " it will comprise of an artificial lake of about 300 metres, swimming pools, restaurants, café, lock up shops, football pitch, basket ball court, volley ball court and a gym. It will also have a 10 room chalet and a 9 holes Golf course ".


Chief Harb expressed hope that with adequate funding, the project should be completed by December, 2024.


Members of the Committee also at the inspection were  Member Representing Oruk Anam State Constituency and Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Sampson Idiong, Member Representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Hon. Moses Essien, Member Representing Uyo State Constituency, Hon. Uwemedimo Asuquo , Member Representing Eket State Constituency, Hon. Nsidibe Akata PhD, Member Representing Ikot Ekpene /Obot Akara State Constituency, Hon. Jerry Otu, Member Representing Ikot Abasi / Eastern Obolo, Hon. Mrs. Hon Selinah Ukpatu
