GROUP WARNS DESPERATE POLITICIANS OVER SPONSORED BLACKMAIL AGAINST APPOINTMENT OF OKOBO COUNCIL SECRETARY,PASTOR ETIM IBOK …..THREATENS LEGAL ACTION

A foremost  socio-cultural and political organization in Okobo Local Government Area,
Offi Development Area Stakeholders Forum, has warned desperate politicians from Atak Oro political bloc in Okobo Local government Area to desist from peddling outright falsehood and unsubstantiated information against the person and character of the newly appointed and sworn-in Secretary of Okobo Local Government Council, Pastor Etim Ibok.

According to a release signed by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Organization, Hon. Rex Enweme, some agents of blackmail  and character  assassination sponsored by some desperate politicians who lobbied and campaigned intensively for the Council Secretaryship appointment but couldn’t get it, have resorted to using the cover page of  a fictitious and non- existing  Newspaper , Daily Gist to allege  that the duly appointed and Sworn-in Council Secretary of Okobo  parades a fake Higher National Diploma Certificate.

Publishing with a streaming and Sensational Headline, “Okobo Council Secretary Embroiled in Certificate Forgery Scandal “.
the  perpetrators of this satanic act  also insulted the Governor of Akwa Ibom State  in his one page computer print out colour paper by placing the Governor’s picture in the second lead story “ Akwa Ibom State Government Under Fire Over Appointment Process”

While waiting for the legal team of Pastor Etim  Ibok to perfect their necessary legal processes that will bring the writer , sponsors and peddlers of this misleading and character assassinating article to full weight of the law, the Offi Development Stakeholders Forum wondered why the blackmailers and their pay masters did not raise alarm of certificate forgery when the same Pastor Etim Ibok, the Present Okobo Council Secretary was appointed twice as Supervisor in Okobo Local government Council.

While urging the general public to ignore the tissue of lies and falsehood published in Daily Gist to give the Council Secretary , Pastor Etim Ibok a wounding image before the public, the forum advised those who could not get the appointment not to take their frustrations and political woes to the doorstep of responsible politicians.

The forum also apologized  to Governor Umo Eno for whatever embarrassment the Daily Gist News may have caused him and his Government.

By Asuquo Edem  The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has adopted a resolution calling for the immediate prohibition of all forms of sign-out celebrations in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions across the state, citing growing concerns over moral decadence, violence, substance abuse and other anti-social behaviours associated with the practice. The resolution followed the consideration of a Motion on Notice sponsored by the Member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency, Hon. Udobia Friday Udo, during plenary. Leading debate on the motion, Hon. Udobia argued that while educational institutions are established to promote learning, discipline, moral values and responsible citizenship, the culture of sign-out celebrations by graduating students has increasingly degenerated into activities that undermine these ideals. According to him, what was once intended as a celebration of academic accomplishment has, in recent years, become synonymous with indecent dressin...

The motion presented before the House seeks to discontinue the consumption and sale of dog meat in Akwa Ibom State has failed to scale through the floor of the State House of Assembly after it received no seconder during plenary.
