Itu/Ibiono: Ime Okon Kick-Starts 4-Day Free Medical/Surgical Outreach For Indigenes

 



The Member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ime Bassey Okon has sponsored a 4-Day medical and surgical outreach for constituents.

As contained in a release from his office, the 4-Day free medical outreach will commence on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, through Friday, March 14, 2025, by 9:00am daily.

The venue for Itu people will be at Primary Health Centre, Mbak Atai, Itu LGA, while that of Ibiono Ibom indigenes will be at Palmer Memorial Hospital, Ikot Usen, Ibiono Ibom LGA, all of Akwa Ibom State.

The schedule is as follows, in Itu LGA, the event will hold at Primary Health Centre, Mbak Atai, Itu from March, 12 to 13, 2025, and at Palmer Memorial Hospital, Ikot Usen, Ibiono Ibom from March, 11 to 14, 2025  by 9:00 am daily.

The free medical event will take place simultaneously in the two venues and will focus on general medical conditions, surgery, and eye checkups. Reading glasses will be given out to patients on recommendation.

According to the federal parliamentarian, buses will be provided at strategic locations to aid in conveying indigenes within the federal constituency to the respective venues.

"I know I can not personally reach out to every Itu and Ibiono Ibom indigene with a health need. This is why I intentionally make plans for buses at strategic locations to convey indigenes of the federal constituency to and fro the venue of the medical outreach."

There will be pick-up points where the buses will be stationed to ease mobility. Indigenes are urged to take advantage of the availability of buses at strategic locations within the federal constituency.

For Itu, buses will be stationed at;

1. Nelson Mandela junction, and


2. ⁠Oku Iboku junction.

For Ibiono Ibom, buses will be stationed at;

3. ⁠Ikot Okpon junction, and


4. ⁠Ikot Ada Idem junction.

Rep Okon advised indigenes of Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal constituency to take note of the dates and venues of the event.

The medical outreach as sponsored and facilitated by Rt. Hon. Ime Okon is organised by Federal Polytechnic Ukana in collaboration with Coppercrux Limited.
