SMEDAN Reiterates Readiness For Partnership As MEGP Batch II Screening Commences


Screening of applicants for the second batch of the capacity building initiative for young start ups and entrepreneurs, My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP) has commenced in Uyo Akwa Ibom State.

Information made available by the Programme Coordinator, Mr. Brian Ekwere, the screening of the Batch 2 of participants by the Directorate of Microfinance and Enterprise Development, has commenced and shall continue till application closes.

Ekwere further stated that the Directorate is ready to drive the programme to another level with a more robust curriculum structure.

In line with his plan to grow Akwa Ibom State through small and medium scale businesses, Gov Udom Emmanuel, through the Directorate of Microfinance and Enterprise Development, facilitated the exclusive business advisory and training of Akwa Ibom start ups and existing entrepreneurs through the free 3 months entrepreneurship class, tagged, 'My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme' (MEGP).

In his remark, the coordinator, Brian Ekwere urged young business owners in the state to get involved, noting that the the human capacity initiative will help participating entrepreneurs in new and realistic approaches to business development.

Representive of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Miss Lucy Ekpenyong, who was at the directorate to monitor the progress, assured the organizers of the programme that SMEDAN is ready to continue partnering with the directorate for smooth sail of the programme by providing resource persons for the courses.

The class is scheduled to commence on the 22nd of October, 2019.
