AKHA Speaker Advocates Improved Sports Funding...Lauds Michael Bush Support To Soccer Devt

Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has lauded the initiative and role of Michael Bush in the development of sports and human capital in Akwa Ibom State.

The Speaker gave the commendation at the St. Thomas RCM school, Ekpene Ukim, on Monday, during the final kick-off of the 2019 Edition of Michael Bush's Football Competition.

He expressed the Udom Emmanuel’s commitment and determination to develop Uruan vis-à-vis Akwa Ibom State through sports and recreation, maintaining that “the only way to realize the administration’s objective is by properly funding sporting activities. And this is a task I am committed to.”

“Football competition does not not only to promote love and unity. It also serve as a career platform for our youths. I want to sincerely thank the initiator and sponsor of this competition, Michael Bush, for this feat,” he said.

The Speaker further enjoined other well to do individuals to follow the path of Michael Bush's doggedness, determination and commitment to the development and progress of Uruan Local Government Area and Akwa Ibom in general.

In a chat with journalists, The Initiator of the competition, Akparawa Michael Bush, revealed that his passion to discover, promote, and nurture youths with talents to prominence with a view of giving them decent living informed his reason to sponsor the competition.

He explained that the opportunity will enable them to showcase their God-given talents to the world.

The ceremonial kick-off had in attendance the Member representing ONNA State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Nse Essien; The Clan Head and the Village head of Ekpene Ukim, His Royal Highness Chief Christopher Etim, Dr. Martins AkpanAkpan, Hon. Sampson Unyeawaji, Hon. Isaac Ukutt, Prince Attang, Executive Chairman Abak Local Government Area, Barr. Imoh William and many others.
