USD Political Leadership: AKHA Speaker Pledges Support To Effiong Bob

 




Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has assured the newly installed Political Leader of Uyo Senatorial District Leaders’ Forum, Senator Effiong Bob, of his unalloyed support.


Rt. Hon. Bassey, who made this known Uyo on Thursday during an enlarged meeting of leaders of the Forum, promised that all Members of the State House of Assembly from the District will cooperate with the new Political Leader to foster development and quality leadership in the district. 


He described Senator Bob as an elder statesman with unparalleled pedigree, maintaining that the district, under his leadership, will experience unity, peace and progress.


“We should note the quality of our Political Leader. He has held various elective positions and has also been appointed into several positions of leadership within and outside the state. He has the requisite experience to deliver on this new assignment, as our Political Leader. As lawmakers and practicing politicians from Uyo Senatorial District, we will obey you as our Leader. We will cooperate and work with you to ensure you succeed in this new assignment for the growth, development and unity of Uyo Senatorial District,” he said.


In his remarks, Senator Effiong Bob thanked members of the Forum for the honour done him and for finding him worthy of the position, stressing that he will uphold fairness and justice throughout his reign.


“There will be no faction, no segregation in my leadership. I will stand on what is fair, peaceful and just. I will speak the truth and I stand by the truth. I play politics without bitterness, so we will move as a body. Uyo Senatorial District will not be backward in my leadership,” he said.


Senator Bob further reiterated the Senatorial District's support for Governor Udom Emmanuel's succession plan and Completion Agenda.


“I promise to provide credible leadership, leadership without barrier. As a Senatorial District, we will stand with and support Governor Udom Emmanuel till the end of his administration. We will also work and support Pastor Umo Eno to emerge as the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State,” he added.


Different speakers at the event including the immediate past acting Leader of the Forum, Otuekong T.O Akpan, former State Chairman the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Paul Ekpo, Prince Enobong Uwah, Prince Godwin Ntukudeh, Mr. Okon Okon, Isantim Kenneth Okon, Dr. Linus Nkan and others, promised to support the new Political Leader in the best interest of the district.


The event was attended by opinion leaders, past and serving political office holders, among others.

AKHA Moves To Save Ibom Air From Collapse, Approves N30B Bond
