Senator Aniekan Inaugurates 4km Ekim Enen-Usuk Road Project

Umo Eno Signs 2025 Budget Of N955B Into Law

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has signed the 955 Billion Naira 2025 Budget of Consolidation and Expansion into law. The Governor assented to the bill at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House Uyo, in the presence of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Elder) Udeme Otong, members of the State Executive Council and some members of the State legislature.  Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Governor Eno commended the  House of Assembly for the expeditious passage of the Budget, appreciating the synergy between the executive and the legislature. Budget Defense: Why We Were Unable To Renovate Any Health Center - Dr. Martins

  The recurring decimal of 'no releases ' continued to play out in majority of Ministries and MDAs in the ongoing Budget Defense organized by the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, a situation which has affected their performance in delivering on their mandates.  While defending the 2025 budget estimates before the Houe Committee yesterday, the Chairman of the State Primary Healthcare Agency, Dr. Martins Akpan informed the Hon. Itorobong Etim led Committee that tthey were unable to renovate any Health Centre during the 2024 fiscal year because there were absolutely no releases from the Executive. Dr. Akpan stated that the Agency has proposed to renovate only 6 health Centers for 2025 hopefully if they get funds from the Executive adding that though it was okay to add more health centers to the ones already on ground, maintaining the already existing ones was equally a priority. Constitution Amendment Will Expand Definition Of Judicial Office Says Senator Aniekan Bassey

Senator Aniekan Bassey (SAB) of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District has pushed for the alteration of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to expand definition of judicial office.  The push was made during plenary of Tuesday through a proposed legislation, titled “A Bill For An Act To Alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, CAP. A'Ibom Assembly Passes 2024 Supplementary Budget of N350.1B

By Asuquo Edem  The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly yesterday passed the supplementary estimates N350,142,918,810 for the year ending 31st December, 2024. This followed a report which was presented to the House  uring Plenary by the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Dr. Itorobong Etim. The lawmaker informed the House that the Supplementary Budget has an augmented Recurrent Expenditure of N8,922,513,000, against the Approved Provision of N359,065,431,810, totalling N350,142,918,810. The revised Budget according to Hon. Etim who represents Uruan State Constituency also has an augmented Capital Expenditure of N82,414,029,890, against the Approved Provision of N490,905,328,180, totalling N573,319,358,070. Gov Umo Eno Pledges Recovery Of Govt Assets In Lagos, Abuja As He Presents N955B Budget For 2025

  By Asuquo Edem A total budgetary estimate of N955B for 2025 fiscal year has been proposed by the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. The governor who presented the budget today at the House of assembly stated that the budget was made of N300B for Recurrent Expenditure while N655B was for Capital Expenditures adding that the budget was predicated on an oil benchmark of 75 dollars per barrel at a production rate of 2.1 million barrels per day with an estimated exchange rate of N1400 er dollar. 2024 Supplementary Bill Scales Second Reading As AKHA Constitutes Committee On Nutrition, Food Security

  Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly yesterday received the 2024 Supplementary Appropriation Bill. The Bill which was sent in by the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno was given accelerated hearing and passed through second reading. Giving insights of the principles of the Bill, the member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob stated that the bill was essentially aimed at providing funds for the newly established ministries which were not captured in the 2024 budget adding that the capital provisions were centered on infrastructure and capital projects. Wrongful Dismissal: Ime Okon Presents Petition To Reinstate Police Officer

In a bold move to seek justice for his constituent, the member representing Itu-Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ime Bassey Okon has presented a petition to the House of Representatives on behalf of Augustine Effiong, a constituent wrongfully dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force. During today's plenary session, Ime Okon urged the House to investigate Effiong's dismissal and facilitate his immediate reinstatement, as well as payment of outstanding entitlements.  He emphasized the importance of fairness and justice in the treatment of Nigerian citizens, particularly those serving the nation.
