Ime Okon Hails Mighty George on Guinness World Record Achievement

 




The Member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ime Bassey Okon, has congratulated renowned broadcaster and Ibiono-born media personality, Obong George Iniabasi Essien who holds the revered chieftaincy title of UTIN IBIONO IBOM and popularly known as Mighty George, on his official recognition by the Guinness World Records.


Mighty George recently earned global acclaim after completing the longest marathon radio talk show, lasting 105 hours and 8 seconds, a feat officially confirmed by Guinness World Records. The event, which captured national attention, now positions Ibiono Ibom on the world map for media excellence.


In his congratulatory message, Barr. Ime Okon described the achievement as “a proud and historic moment” for the constituency and Nigeria at large, commending the broadcaster’s resilience, mental strength, and global ambition.


“Mighty George has carried the brilliance of Ibiono Ibom to the world stage. His name is now etched in history, not just for breaking a record, but for inspiring a generation,” he said.


The federal lawmaker further stated that the feat reflects the untapped potential across Itu and Ibiono, and reaffirmed his commitment to celebrating and supporting homegrown talents that promote the constituency positively.


“We are immensely proud of him. His success is a reminder that greatness can emerge from our communities when we dare to dream and persist,” he added.
