Residents of Idu Uruan on Friday, January 9, 2026, witnessed the official handover of an ultra-modern civic centre by the Member representing Uruan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Itorobong Etim, in a move widely described as a boost to grassroots governance. The newly completed facility, fitted with solar-powered lighting and a borehole, is part of the lawmaker’s constituency projects aimed at strengthening social infrastructure and improving access to basic amenities at the community level.
