Following the postponement of the 2019 General Elections by the Electoral body Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke has tasked electorates not to despair nor lose faith in the system. Barr Luke who is also the candidate for Etinan Federal Constituency while charging his supporters said "I want to urge you to remain unmoved. We must not lose faith in the system, but rather, every one of our supporters must be seen to be ready to do what is right to support the system to stand strong and overcome the challenges which we face at this time. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has postponed the General election earlier scheduled for today Saturday, February 16 th , 2019. Earlier,  Rotimi Oyekanmi,  the  chief press secretary to INEC’s chairman,  Professor Mahmood Yakubu,  had informed newsmen that the commission had taken a decision after the crucial meeting attended by the chairman and  12 national commissioners. According to him,  “A decision has been taken, but you’d have to hear from the horse’s mouth.” More details later.....

A Presidential Candidate of Nigeria for Democracy, NFD, Dr. Asukwo Mendie Archibong has said that if voted into Office, he will ensure constant power supply as one of the major drivers of the nation economy, noting that no nation can achieve any meaningful development without constant electricity.
