Shift In Election Date Shouldn't Despair Electorates, Supporters - Onofiok

Following the postponement of the 2019 General Elections by the Electoral body Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke has tasked electorates not to despair nor lose faith in the system.

Barr Luke who is also the candidate for Etinan Federal Constituency while charging his supporters said "I want to urge you to remain unmoved. We must not lose faith in the system, but rather, every one of our supporters must be seen to be ready to do what is right to support the system to stand strong and overcome the challenges which we face at this time. Because we have been called according to the purpose of God, we must trust that all things, including this last minute postponement, are working together for our collective good".

He commended his supporters for staying true to the course all these past weeks and months. "I thank you for your faith in us, your steadfastness and and your spirited devotion to our campaigns. Indeed, your consistency and commitment has been priceless".

He called on them to go about their normal businesses, be law abiding while waiting patiently on INEC to perfect the process that will strengthen our democracy and deepen representative governance in the country.
