No Going Back On Youth Empowerment, Capacity Building - Udom Emmanuel

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has stated that his administration's commitment to youth development is irrevocable, noting he will continually produce adequate manpower to boost the State Government's industrialization programme.

The Governor stated this at The Citadel Church, during April Edition of Akwa Ibom Youth Prayer Conference in Uyo.

Continuing, the State Chief Executive stressed that Small and Medium Scale Enterprises drive economy in most developed countries and assured Akwa Ibom youths that his administration will continue to facilitate easy access to capital for startups which will generate more employment opportunities in the State.

Mr. Emmanuel who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Microfinance and Enterprise Devoloment, Mr Ime Uwah
acknowledged the contributions of the youths in the just concluded elections, observing that the youths to a large extent, contributed to the peaceful, free and fair elections in the State.

Earlier, the Lead Pastor of the Church, Pastor Ab Isong commended His Excellency for maintaining a close relationship with God, and lauded the program organisers for their thoughtfulness, saying, the Conference will further provide a strong spiritual platform for the Governor to achieve more.

AKIRS secures N1.2b judgement against Ardent Energy Services LTD ....warns against tax evasion

The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) has secured a landmark judgement against Ardent Energy Services Ltd, an oil servicing company operating in Akwa Ibom State. In a judgement delivered on July 3, 2025 at the Revenue Court of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo, by the Presiding Revenue Judge, Maureen-Idongesit M. Udoka, the court ordered the defendant to pay to the Akwa Ibom State Government, the sum of N1.2bilion, including penalty and interest on the principal sum. The judgement was in consequence to Suit No. Rue/77C/2022, filed by AKIRS. With this judgement, which is a major milestone in AKIRS tax compliance drive, the agency warns taxpayers to willingly comply to their civic obligations of always paying their taxes as and when due as there was no hiding place for defaulters.
