Yelutide: Sunny Akpadiaha Charges Staff To Embrace Peace, lend Support

It was an awesome moment and fun galore at the Christmas/ End of Year Thanksgiving service of the State Civil Service Commission as Staff turned out in their numbers at the Commission's arena on Monday to celebrate the goodness of God for year 2019.

The Chairman of the Commission, Sunny Akpadiaha in his good will message reminded the Staff of the significance of Christmas as a season of love,  peace and good tidings.

Akpadiaha enjoined the Staff to let love lead by closing ranks and supporting one another always.

He thanked the Almighty God for preserving the lives of every Staff of the Commission throughput the year, and also appreciated the Staff for holding forth as a team despite  challenges to generate positive results, encouraging them to always tow the line of excellence for which they are known for .

The Chairman particularly lauded the Permanent Secretary, Lady Rose Bassey for her motherly role as well as her managerial and administrative capacities  noting that these have kept the Commission afloat.

While praying for greater attainments in 2020 and beyond, the Commission boss  called for caution especially during the  season to avoid unforeseen circumstances.

The Permanent Secretary, Lady Rose Bassey who took a  short sermon on the topic "What is Christmas" ,with a text from John3:16 , described the season as a period set aside to commemorate the love of God to the world  by sending His son ,Jesus Christ to come down redeem mankind from all iniquities.

She described Jesus Christ as the Prince of peace ,and admonished the Staff to be at peace with one another, while praying that the reason for the season shall continually glow, manifest and abide in the lives of all.

On his part, the Director of Administration , Mr. Effiong Nicholas, expressed gratitude to the Chairman, and Permanent Secretary for creating time to join the Staff for the celebration and for the resources provided to make the Christmas celebration worthwhile, pledging Staff continued support and cooperation  .

The event which reached a crescendo with the celebration of December born babies also featured rendition of Xmas carols, testimonies and intercessory prayers.

The event had in attendance, Commissioner ii, Hon. Iboro Udom , all Directors and Heads of Departments.

AKHA Defers Giving Resolution To Extend Transition Committees..mandates Committee to verify performance of councils

  By Asuquo Edem Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today put off giving the governor a resolution to extend the stay of Transition Committees across the State. The State governor who communicated his request for the House Resolution dated 6th May 2024 drawing strength from Section 5 sub 2 of the Local Government Administration Law pleaded with the lawmakers to heed to giving the resolution to extend the tenure of Transition Councils as the Commission responsible for conducting elections require an extended time frame. The motion to receive the letter for deliberation was moved by the member representing Ikono Rt. Hon. Asuquo Nana and was seconded by the member representing Ika State Constituency, Rt. Hon.
