Mbiaya Women Declare Support To Aniekan Bassey, PDP




Women representatives across Mbiaya Uruan in Uruan Local Government Area, on Tuesday stormed the Osongoma residence of the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, to declare their support to his Senatorial bid.


The women, led by Mrs. Rebecca Nkim, said their unanimous decision to support Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the forthcoming general elections was borne out of his unparalleled performance and commitment to the development of Uruan. 


In his remarks, the Speaker thanked the women for the show of love and solidarity, assuring that there will be more democratic dividends for the people of the area when he emerged as Senator.


Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey is the Candidate of the PDP for the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District seat.

AKHA Defers Giving Resolution To Extend Transition Committees..mandates Committee to verify performance of councils

  By Asuquo Edem Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today put off giving the governor a resolution to extend the stay of Transition Committees across the State. The State governor who communicated his request for the House Resolution dated 6th May 2024 drawing strength from Section 5 sub 2 of the Local Government Administration Law pleaded with the lawmakers to heed to giving the resolution to extend the tenure of Transition Councils as the Commission responsible for conducting elections require an extended time frame. The motion to receive the letter for deliberation was moved by the member representing Ikono Rt. Hon. Asuquo Nana and was seconded by the member representing Ika State Constituency, Rt. Hon.
