Solemn Assembly: Aniekan Bassey Prays For Akwa Ibom's Prosperity

 




As the people of Akwa Ibom State gathered to dedicate the year 2023 to God, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, solemnly prayed for the peace and prosperity of the state.


The Speaker expressed optimism that 2023 will be a year of immeasurable greatness and progress for Akwa Ibom State and its people.


The gathering, which took place at the Ibom Hall Ground on Tuesday, was organized by Akwa Ibom Fathers in Faith, was a Special Inter-Denominational Solemn Assembly/Thanksgiving Service.


Rt. Hon. Bassey, who is the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District seat in the 2023 general elections, also in the intercessory prayers for the State, Governor Emmanuel, his family, the Legislature, the Judiciary, the Church and the traditional institutions.


The event, whose theme, “Go Forward,” was taken from the Bible Book of Exodus Chapter 14 Verse 15, was presided over by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.


Some of the top dignitaries that joined Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife, Dr Martha, at the event were the Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem; PDP Governorship Candidate, Pastor Umo Eno;  President of the Legislators Wives Association, Mrs. Itohowo Aniekan Bassey; Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem; Obong Paul Ekpo, amongst others.

Financial Impropriety, Abuse Of Power: AKHA Receives Petition Against Ikono Chairman

  The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today during Plenary received a petition against the Council Chairman of Ikono, Hon. Otobong Essien, where the Councillors have accused her of misconduct in the discharge of her official duties.
