ITU/IBIONO 2023: IME OKON RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF RETURN AS MEMBER ELECT HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

 

 



The Member Elect for Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon (Barr) Ime Bassey Okon has received Certificate of Return by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).


The ceremony as performed by INEC took place on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.


It could be recalled that the Member Elect for Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency on the platform of PDP polled a total number of 14,164 votes to win the  Federal House of Representatives contest beating 13 others in the February 25, 2023 elections.


Expressing his thought as one of the Members elect to fill the 358 seats in the 10th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ime Okon said "I appreciate God's grace which saw me through the election process and for positioning me in the hearts of the good people of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency as the man to speak for them in the House of Representatives that will be inaugurated in a few months from now. This is a winning for all to bring the needed positive change to the people of Itu and Ibiono Ibom LGAs."


The Federal House of Representatives Member Elect said the Certificate of Return symbolises the key to opening the new chapter of unity of purpose which should be a trademark of his representation. Ime Okon called on all to join hands with him to make the dreams of the Federal Constituency a reality.


He also congratulated other members elect who received their Certificate of Return, looking forward for a robust outing by the 10th House of Representatives to make Nigeria better.


He urged his constituents in Itu and Ibiono Ibom LGAs to give more of the support to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on March 11, 2023 Governorship and Houses of Assembly elections.

Breaking: A’Ibom Governor Removes Two Aides Amid Restructuring, Alleged PDP Links

  Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has relieved two aides of their duties with immediate effect, the state government announced on Monday. AKIRS secures N1.2b judgement against Ardent Energy Services LTD ....warns against tax evasion

  The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) has secured a landmark judgement against Ardent Energy Services Ltd, an oil servicing company operating in Akwa Ibom State. In a judgement delivered on July 3, 2025 at the Revenue Court of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo, by the Presiding Revenue Judge, Maureen-Idongesit M. Udoka, the court ordered the defendant to pay to the Akwa Ibom State Government, the sum of N1.2bilion, including penalty and interest on the principal sum.  The judgement was in consequence to Suit No. Rue/77C/2022, filed by AKIRS. With this judgement, which is a major milestone in AKIRS tax compliance drive, the agency warns taxpayers to willingly comply to their civic obligations of always paying their taxes as and when due as there was no hiding place for defaulters.
