ITU/IBIONO IBOM 2023: CAMPAIGN COUNCIL ORGANISES RECEPTION PARTY IN IME OKON'S HONOUR

 




Itu/Ibiono Ibom Unity Project 2023 Campaign Council has organised a reception party in honour of the Itu/Ibiono Ibom House of Representatives Member-Elect, Rt. Hon Ime Bassey Okon in gratitude to God for the victory recorded in the February 25, 2023 elections. 


On a thanksgiving note, members of the Campaign Council were led by the Chairman, Obong Israel Utit and the Director General, Comrade Godwin Mbeke on Saturday appreciating God for the victory.


The Chairman, Obong Isreal Utit commended members of the Campaign Council and all who supported the cause for demonstrating resilience and doggedness through the campaign journey till the election day. 


Also, the Director General, Comrade Godwin Mbeke who is from Itu LGA specially thanked the people of Itu for trusting the cause and reciprocating the support Ibiono Ibom people have given them over the years.  


Other stakeholders from the two LGAs who were present, Dr. Iniobong Essien, Hon Etop Idung, Isantim Churchill Udoh, Bobby Bassey Ekanem, Elder Emmanuel Edet, Mrs Inemesit Maxwell amongst others expressed joy over the victory at the polls and urged everyone to go back and work for  PDP in the Saturday, March 18, 2023 elections. 


In his response, the House of Representatives Member-Elect, Rt. Hon Ime Okon accompanied by the wife, Deaconess Victoria Ime Okon, appreciated members of his campaign council for the love and honour expressed towards him. He said the only way he will reciprocate the love is to give the people of the Federal Constituency effective representation in the National Assembly and draw dividends of democracy to the people.


"I appreciate members of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Unity Project 2023 Campaign Council for the honour done me. I want to state here that God won the victory despite all the betrayals, intrigues and manipulations. I will reciprocate this gesture by giving the people effective representation in the National Assembly. In a special way I want to thank the people of Itu LGA who offered themselves to be used by God to actualize our dream and transport us to the National Assembly.”


He added that his joy will be full when the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Pst Umo Eno, Itu House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Kufreabasi Edidem, Ibiono Ibom House of Assembly candidate, Hon Godwin Ekpo and other PDP candidates are delivered in the March 18, 2023 elections. 


High point of the event was when he presented the Certificate of Return to the members of the Campaign Council.

Financial Impropriety, Abuse Of Power: AKHA Receives Petition Against Ikono Chairman
