Senator Aniekan Bassey Fetes Aides, Supporters, Gifts Cars

In appreciation to loyalty, steadfastness and commitment to service, the Senator representing the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Senator Aniekan Bassey, has rewarded supporters and stakeholders of Uruan State Constituency with vehicles and motorcycle.

Presenting the vehicles to the beneficiaries on Sunday at his Campaign Headquarters, Uyo, Senator Bassey said the vehicles were in appreciation of the consistent support he has enjoyed from the beneficiaries over the years, especially, during his tenure in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

Addressing the people, Senator Bassey said “What we are doing today is just to appreciate some of us who have supported us over the years. They have been very steadfast and loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), especially during my election to the State House of Assembly. So it became important to thank them by providing them with means of mobility.”

The Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District Senator congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to make good use of the vehicles.

“It is very difficult to empower people with vehicles, especially given the times we are in. The cost of maintaining a vehicle is high. So, you are a beneficiary today, please look at ways you can commercialize it and make money. You can operate Bolt or Uber and be sure you will make good money every month,” he said.

Speaking further, he assured the people of more democratic dividends, saying “This is not the end of this benevolence. We will have more of this. So, if you have not been touched today, please be patient and keep supporting us. We will make sure that everyone is rewarded.”

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the political leader of South – 1 in Uruan Local Government Area, Sir Henry Okokon Obot, thanked the Senator for his benevolence and thoughtfulness.

He prayed God to continually enrich the Senator with capacity, good health and enablement to do more to the people of the area and by extension, the people of Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District.

The beneficiaries included Sir Henry Okokon Obot, Obong Idara Tom, Ukeme Ikpito, Yeti Eyo, Archibong Archibong, Kufre Cletus Udobang, Uwem Edet Asuquo and Obong Essien Joseph.

Another beneficiary, Daniel Edem, from Osong-Uruan, was given a motorcycle.
