Community leaders, traditional rulers, education stakeholders Commend Okobo AKHA Member For Attracting Projects To Schools in Okobo

 



Community leaders, royal fathers and Stakeholders in the education sector have given Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey, Member representing Okobo State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, a pat at the back for attracting critical infrastructural projects to various Schools in Okobo State Constituency, describing the intervention as a major boost to learning and community development.


The commendation follows a wave of education-focused projects facilitated by the lawmaker which are spread across various Wards in Okobo Local Government Area, thereby creating a conducive ambience for teaching and learning.







Speaking while playing host to the Okobo lawmaker who led the  team of  Government Officials and contractors to Community Secondary school, Urue Ita for flag-off of Assembly Hall and Office  Complex Project, the Village Head of Urue Ita, His Highness, Chief Friday Matthew, community leaders; Mr. Uwem Dominic Uduk, Hon. Samuel Okpo, Elder Edet Sam, Woman leader, Helena Okon Bassey,  among others,  described Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey as a man of honour and integrity who keeps to  his Campaign Promises and  unanimously prayed for the lawmaker’s political upliftment, citing his commitment to projects with direct impact to his constituents and the Community as one Of the approaches yọ representation hẹ has adopted since elected into the Akwa Ibom State House Of Assembly. 


While also commending Hon. Bassey for his recent Constituency Briefing and Empowerment Programme which impacted positively on the lives of his Constituents and two major Socio- Cultural Organisations in Okobo, the Urue Ita Village Monarch passionately appealed to the Okobo lawmaker to assist his Community with a  Community Market to boost economic activities in the area.

 

At St. Peters Primary School, Nung Atai Eta, Chairman, Village Council of Nung Atai Eta, Chief Victor Odiong,  former Councilor,  Hon. Friday Umoh, Youth leader, Mr. Matthew Okon Atting, Woman leader, Agness Odiong were unanimous in Commending Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey's effective representation, youth and women empowerment and his love in developing Nung Atai Eta Community through quality infrastructure.


The Nung Atai Eta Community leaders were full of thanks to the Okobo lawmaker for attracting construction of an Assembly Hall to St. Peters Primary School, Nung Eta and appealed to him to bring more developmental projects to their community.

Describing their representative as a politician with human face, Nung Atai Eta Community pledged their unwavering solidarity and support to Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey as Member representing Okobo State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.


Responding, the Okobo Lawmaker and Chairman, House Committee on Environment, thanked his constituents for the confidence reposed in him and promised to remain resolute in attracting quality dividends of democracy to his people.

 Hon. Bassey used the Occasion to appreciate Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD for his developmental initiaves in Okobo and reassured the Governor of unmitigated Support of his people to his administration, beyond 2027.

 He charged the contractors handling the two projects not to compromise quality,while appealing to the youths to protect Government Projects in their domains and guard against vandalism.


Recalled that Within the last two months, completed school, ICT, Water and Market projects which have been handed over to several communities, including St. Theresa Primary School, Okopedi, Government School Odobo, St. Simon School, Ebighi Edu,  Hybrid Water Project in Nsating, Market  Stalls in Okopedi  Main Market, among others.


The Lawmakers said the  sustained investment in education demonstrates his unflinching commitment to raising a new generation of leaders from the grassroots who have been sufficiently exposed to quality education through sound teachings in a serene environment.


The lawmaker has consistently urged leaders to invest massively in primary education which is the foundation of education for a bright future and assured constituents of more developmental projects to promote socio-economic growth

Financial Impropriety, Abuse Of Power: AKHA Receives Petition Against Ikono Chairman

  The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today during Plenary received a petition against the Council Chairman of Ikono, Hon. Otobong Essien, where the Councillors have accused her of misconduct in the discharge of her official duties.
