A'Ibom Govt Pledges Synergy With Online Publishers



Akwa Ibom State Government has expressed its resolve to partner Online Publishers and Bloggers in a bid to report its developmental strides effectively and accurately while also tasking them to criticize constructively where need be.

The government reiterated its resolve for partnership recently during a parley between the Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Media, Prince Emmanuel Sam and Online Publishers.

In his remarks at the event which held at Amity Hotel, Ewet Housing Estate, Prince Sam said the media interaction was necessary as government recognizes the pivotal role played by online publishers and bloggers towards the success of its administration and also used the occasion to seek for support.

"We have to join hands to move Akwa Ibom State forward. I solicit your cooperation as the image of the government lies in the content of your reports", Emmanuel said.

He noted that Governor Udom has performed creditably in the areas of job creation, poverty alleviation, wealth creation, economic and political inclusion; and infrastructural consolidation and expansion which requires optimum reportage.

Also speaking at the well attended event, the Chancellor of COOPA, Mr. Ifreke Nseowo said that the established bond  between Online Publishers and the government would be better galvanised through the office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Media.

He used the occasion to appeal for consideration tbrough government patronage in terms of advertorials for online publishers in the state.

The event had in attendance among other persons, a former State Chairman of NUJ, Mr. Israel Umoh, Akwa Ibom's pioneer blogger and publisher of www.wetinhappen.com.ng, Aniekan James Ekah.
