Onofiok Parleys Women Group, Pledges Continuous Effective Representation, Oversight



Today, a cross section of Etinan Federal Constituency Women paid a solidarity visit to the Member representing Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Onofiok Luke, in his office. The women, congratulated the Federal Lawmaker on his emergence as the Chairman, House Committee on Federal Judiciary and pledged their commitment to always pray for him. The women who were in Abuja to attend a capacity development programme sponsored by the wife of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel, thanked the Governor and his wife for their continuous support for women development.

Hon. Luke commended the women for coming to his office to track progress of the Federal Constituency in providing effective representation for their people. He thanked the wife of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel for initiating the capacity development programme for the women and exposing them to contemporary leadership and entrepreneurship skills. He also lauded the women for their support and the various roles they played in the 2019 General Elections that galvanised the party to record massive victory at the polls. Hon. Luke promised the women to always be the voice of the people and to continuously protect the interest of the Federal Constituency.

The women through their spokesperson, Mrs Patricia Dennis, thanked Hon. Luke for the audience. Mrs Dennis, who is also the wife of the member representing the Etinan State Constituency and the Deputy Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Hon. Aniefiok Dennis , said that the women were impressed by the representation the Federal Lawmaker has provided so far.

The Women had in attendance: wives of Honourable Members of Etinan and Nsit Ibom State Constituencies, wives of Chairmen of Etinan, Nsit Ibom and Nsit Ubium Local Government Areas, and women leaders which include Rt Hon Eno Okoko, Hon. Mrs Eno Sabo, Mrs Imo Mmenim, Mrs Nsikak Akpan, Mrs Eno Frank, Mrs Emem Samuel Nkanga and Mrs Agnes Aloysius. Mrs Queensly Efombru wife of the Chairman Urue Offong /Uruko Local Government Area showed solidarity to her colleagues by joining the visiting train.

Financial Impropriety, Abuse Of Power: AKHA Receives Petition Against Ikono Chairman

  The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today during Plenary received a petition against the Council Chairman of Ikono, Hon. Otobong Essien, where the Councillors have accused her of misconduct in the discharge of her official duties.
