Synergy: LEWA Partners Ex Speaker



A cross section of wives of serving state House of Assembly members in Akwa Ibom state today paid a courtesy visit to the member representing Etinan-Nsit Ibom-Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke in his office at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

The women under the umbrella of the Legislators' Wives Association (LEWA) led by the wife of the Speaker, Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Mrs. Itohowo Aniekan Bassey said that they were in Abuja to participate in a women-based workshop facilitated by the wife of the Akwa Ibom state governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel. She thanked the federal lawmaker for receiving them with open arms and promised to at all times contribute to the development of Akwa Ibom state.

Responding, Barr. Luke who is the immediate past Speaker of the Akwa Ibom state legislature, thanked the women for sparing their time to identify with him despite their numerous schedules. He promised to partner with the legislators' wives and Akwa Ibom women in any way possible to broaden the image and welfare of the women in the state while vowing to take his representation and contributions beyond his federal constituency.

Barr. Luke also urged the women to always pray for their husbands and the state government so as to achieve a viable future for the state. He promised to always partner in any capacity with the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey for the development and prosperity of the Akwa Ibom people.
