2023 HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS: BASSEY PIUS BASSEY FLOORS 8 ASPIRANTS TO WIN PDP NOMINATION FOR OKOBO STATE CONSTITUENCY.

The immediate past Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr. Bassey Pius Bassey, has  floored a total of 8 Aspirants to emerge  winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nomination for the 2023 Okobo State  Constituency Election.


Mr. Bassey who floored the incumbent  Chairman of Okobo, Hon(Dr) Sylvester Attah, immediate past Supervisor for Agriculture and Natural Resources & former Deputy Head of Council, Hon

Isaac Anyin,  Barr Emmanuel Ekpeyong, Mr. Bassey Ukpong,  Hon. Edu Okon Attah, Mr. Edet Festus Bassey, Mr. Iniobong Bassey Esung, and an America- based Businessman Mr.Bassey Kingsley  Hogan, emerged  Winner  after  scoring  thirty one (31)votes out of 31 total votes cast. 


After being declared winner of the PDP Nomination Congress  and returned elected by the Returning Officer, the Youth and Women of Okobo were thrown into jubilant mood,  celebrating Mr.Bassey  Pius Bassey  whom they described as the youth's slot  for  the 2023  Okobo State Constituency general elections.


Delegates and agents of  other aspirants, INEC Officials, Security agents and the media unanimously  adjudged the nomination exercise as free, fair, credible and very transparent.


Addressing the Stakeholders, Delegates and teeming supporters  of PDP at the  Venue of the Nomination Exercise, Mr

Bassey Bassey expressed gratitude to God for qualifying him among those who contested for the PDP ticket and assured of carrying everybody along in the trinity mandate of lawmaking, oversight and representation once elected to represent them in the hallowed chamber.


The Visibly elated Candidate of PDP in the forthcoming  2023 General Elections, thanked the political leader of Okobo Local Government Area and Deputy Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Princess) Felicia Bassey for her new dimension of inclusive leadership, where elective and appointive political offices are shared evenly across the two political blocs of Okobuo Speaking Development Area and Atak Oro Speaking Development Area.


He solicited the support and cooperation of those who also  vied for the PDP ticket as well as the entire structure of PDP in Okobo to enable him and the Party win during  the general elections.


Expressing deep satisfaction on the conduct of the  nomination exercise, the Deputy Speaker and Member representing Okobo State Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Princess) Felicia Bassey, appreciated the delegates of the Party for making a good  choice by voting a vibrant youth, consistent and loyal Party Man to succeed her in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in 2023.


" This is another opportunity for the youth of my Constituency to have a huge sense of belonging  in the business of governance. In the youth- friendly administration of His Excellency,  Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State,  the youth of Okobo have been made Chairmen,  Special Assistants to the Governor, Councillors, Supervisors, Special Advisers and Party Officials. It is my hope that youth of Okobo will reciprocate this huge gesture by supporting the completion agenda and succession plan of Governor Udom Emmanuel", Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey enthused.


She reiterated her unwavering commitment towards robust legislative engagement in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly as well as enhancement of the welfare of  her constituents,while representing them.
