Ime Okon Clinches PDP Ticket For Itu/Ibiono Fed House




As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP concludes its Primary yesterday, Rt. Hon Ime Bassey Okon of Ibiono Ibom axis emerged as the Candidate for Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency seat.


He will be representing PDP for the position in the up and coming 2023 General Elections.


The exercise which took place at West Itam Secondary School, Itu LGA, saw Barr. Ime Okon emerging as the Flagbearer of PDP with all 62 votes of the accredited delegates for the exercise. Though three (3) delegates from Estern part of Ibiono Ibom LGA were absent during the Primary election. 


The result as announced by the officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who supervised the process was adjudged as peaceful and transparent by party agents, observers and other party faithful.


The Director General (DG) of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Unity Project 2023 Campaign Organisation, Hon Godwin Mbeke leading other members of the Campaign Organization to witness the exercise, said the group was specially elated to midwife the success of the first phase of the election process. 


He added that Rt. Hon Ime Okon is a sellable product who made the process easy. "He is made a seasoned Democrat, Politician and a Legal Luminary who is a proud product of the Campaign Organisation which made the process easy. He will make the Federal Constituency proud in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly when finally elected during the 2023 General elections.


"We appreciate Itu/Ibiono delegates for dropping all sentiments and choosing the best hands for the job. We sincerely appreciate their sincerity and we hope for more loyalty and support to this quality product of ours in the future as we go into the next phase of the  General elections in 2023."
