Breaking: Presidency To Pacify Akpabio, Pencils Name As Ambassadorial Nominee


Baring any last minute changes, the former Senate Minority Leader, Chief Godswill Akpabio has been penciled down by the Presidency as one of those eminent Nigerians to be nominated as Ambassadors.

This sharp move it was learnt from impeccable Villa Sources was aimed at consoling the former Senate Minority Leader who lost at last weeks Senatorial election.

Our Aso Rock sources claimed that the Presidency is very interested in retaining Akpabio in its Party fold and therefore not wanting to lose him back to his former Party the PDP, and therefore would dangle an Ambassadorial position to him as offer to assuage his loss at the polls, adding that the office of Chief Of Staff to the President was also being considered.

Also penciled down were few APC Senators who also  lost their return bid to the Red Chambers to candidates of the PDP

It would be recalled that Senator Godswill Akpabio during the recently concluded polls, lost his return bid to the Red Chambers to the candidate of the PDP, Engr Chris Ekpenyong. Chief Akpabio its was also reported had approached an Abuja High Court where he obtained an interim injunction preventing INEC from giving certificate of return to Engr Ekpenyong.

Improved Working Conditions For Teachers In Rural Areas Underway As AKHA Advocates Provision Of Live-In Quarters

Secondary school teachers posted to rural areas in the State would have a sigh of relief as lawmakers of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has advocated to the State Government for the provision of live-in quarters to reduce the burden of transportation and solve issues of accomodation.  This was sequel to a report presented to the House by the Chairman House Committee on Education, Hon. Kenim Onofiok during Plenary today. Hon. Onofiok informed the House that the Committee had invited stakeholders from the Ministry including Commissioner for Education, Chairmen, State Secondary Education Board, Permanent Secretaries to discuss on the matter. The House thereafter dissolved into the Committee of the Whole where the two recommendations of the report were adopted.
