The PDP Chapter Chairman of Ibiono Ibom, Hon Enobong Ekong urged the people to give total support to Rt Hon Ime Okon and all other PDP Candidates in the forthcoming elections as the party is the only party which reaches out to the people at all times not just during elections.

The DG of the Itu/Ibiono Ibom Unity Project 2023 Campaign Council, Comrade Godwin Mbeke said the visit is to officially intimate the Elders, Women and Youths of the political outing of their son who seeks their support. He added that it is deserving for their son to be the PDP flagbearer for the Itu/Ibiono Ibom Green Chamber's job as he was the most qualified and is not a fair-weather party man.

Addressing his kinsmen, the Candidate, Rt. Hon. Ime Bassey Okon said he has to start from home to officially inform his people that he was given the PDP flag after emerging winner during the party primary to contest for the Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections.

He said there is no other party in Ibiono Ibom which has left indelible footprints which have added value to lives than PDP. He swiftly recounted few of his achievements while serving in the Ibiono Ibom Local Government Council as Transition Chairman and member of the State House of Assembly.

The Legal Luminary said many of Ibiono Ibom indigenes have gained employment while he served in  these public offices. Also, communities have benefited from infrastructural and social amenities by the help of God through him including construction and renovation of village halls and classrooms, award of scholarship and skills acquisition.

"The cleanest water in Ikot Udom where the people enjoy till date is courtesy of these offices while I served. Also, the construction and renovation of Community Secondary School, Ikot Usen was enabled by me. There are many more which it will not be ideal to start recounting them one after the other because of scarcity of time. But they are all in the records for posterity."

He promised to do more when elected to represent Itu/Ibiono Ibom people in the Green Chamber during the 2023 General elections.

Elders, Women and the Youths unanimously declared their support for the success of their son, Rt. Hon. Ime Okon.

Highpoint of the consultation was the prayers offered by elders, women and youths of the five villages towards the success of the  cause.

Present were; Members of the Itu/Ibiono Ibom Unity Project 2023 Campaign Council, Councillors, Ward Coordinators, Elders, Women Leaders, Youths and other supporters.
