My Impact Will Be Positively Felt In Ibiono Ibom As Senator - Aniekan Bassey

Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has vowed to deliver an impactful representation in the Senate, when voted into office in 2023.

Rt. Hon. Bassey gave the assurance in Ikot Antia Ididep, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, on Saturday while speaking at an End of the Year Get-Together organized by the Chairman of Ibom Airport Company, Dr. Iniobong Essien.

The Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial Candidate said he will not only attract road projects to the area, but will leverage on his legislative experience to draw meaningful empowerment opportunities to his constituents, the people of Uyo Senatorial District.

"I have vowed that when I get to the Senate, I will reciprocate what Senator Ita Enang did for Uruan during his tenure. He remains the only representative that tarred a road in Uruan Local Government Area. He changed the landscape of the whole community. That was good representation and I see that as a challenge. So, when I get to the Senate, I will bring development to Ibiono Ibom. There is no reason why I won't do that. As a Senator, my impact will be felt positively in Ibiono Ibom.”

The Speaker also made a case for the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Pastor Umo Eno, whose aspiration he said is in the best interest of the entire state.

“I appeal to the people of Ibiono Ibom to support Governor Udom Emmanuel's Succession Plan. There is time for everything and God's time is the best. I am urging Ibiono Ibom people not to resort to violence or disharmony because we are one. Power comes from God, so if it is Nsit Ubium today, it can be Ibiono Ibom tomorrow. Let us support Pastor Umo Eno and the PDP for the best interest of Akwa Ibom State,” he added.

Earlier, the convener of the event, Dr Iniobong Essien, thanked the Speaker for the honour done him and assured that Ibiono Ibom people will deliver overwhelming votes for the PDP in next year's election.

The event featured presentation of empowerment items including a car, motorcycle, sewing and vulcanizing machines, cameras and food items.
