The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation has commended Governor Umo Eno’s development strategy, describing it as a deliberate effort at turning waste into wealth through strategic investment in infrastructure and tourism.

Etim, made this observation during an on-the-spot assessment of key government projects following the conclusion of the 2026 budget defence exercise. According to her, the Governor’s vision to reposition the state is evident in the quality and value being delivered at project sites inspected by the lawmakers.
Dr. Etim particularly applauded Bulletine Construction Company, contractors handling the comprehensive redevelopment of the ARISE Palm Resort, noting that the Committee was satisfied with the level of work done and the judicious deployment of funds appropriated for the project.
She observed that an area previously ravaged by erosion has been transformed into a modern tourist destination, describing the project as a masterpiece that reflects the Governor’s waste-to-wealth philosophy. The Committee Chairman also praised the professionalism brought to bear by the contractors, which she said accounts for the impressive progress recorded so far.
While conducting members of the Committee around the expansive resort, the Managing Director of Bulletin Construction Company Engr. Faysal hart explained that the ARISE Palm Resort is designed as a complete leisure and tourism destination. He listed facilities to include 20 chalets, 15 two-bedroom apartments, service areas, a golf course, clubhouse, children’s play area, games arena, swimming pools, five restaurants, a performance stage, and a 1,500-capacity banquet hall, among other amenities.
He disclosed that the project has reached about 85 per cent completion.
The Committee also inspected the Command and Control Centre located on Brooks Street, constructed by Alvard & Moore Services Limited, as well as the 5,000-capacity International Convention Centre being executed by Craneburg Construction Company.
Other members of the Committee present during the inspection were Rt. Hon. Asuquo Nana, Hon. Uwemedimo Asuquo, Hon. Moses Essien, Hon. Bassey Pius, Hon. Aniefiok Attah, and Hon. Precious Selong and the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Special Duties and Ibom Deep Saport Engr. Udosen Udoh.
