100 Days in Office: Ibiono Ibom Council Chairman Invests in Rice Production

 





In a bid to strengthen Agriculture and boost food sufficiency in the  Local Government,  the Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Asuakak Umoh has unveiled  BMT rice plantation  at Ikot Esen, Ibiono Ibom today,  January 23


The 5-hectare BMT Rice plantation is one of the projects embarked upon by RT. Hon. Asuakak Umoh’s administration within its 100 Days in office 








Accompanied by the  Vice Chairman, Comr. Mercy Ubon, and other key stakeholders from the Council, Rt. Hon. Umoh inspected the rice plantation and also engaged with the farmers.



 He emphasized that the initiative would not only contribute to food sufficiency but also empower the youth, generate income, and enhance the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of Ibiono Ibom.


The Chairman further expressed his commitment to supporting the growth of the agricultural sector, aligning with the Arise Agenda of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. He noted that the development of the rice plantation would play a significant role in achieving food security for both Ibiono Ibom and Akwa Ibom State at large.


Rt. Hon. Umoh assured the farmers of his administration's continued partnership to boost rice production in the area.


In his remarks, the Chairman of Ikot Esen Rice Farmers, Mr Emmanuel Usua, commended the Executive Chairman for his impressive achievements within his first 100 days in office. 



He particularly praised the road grading projects, despite the substantial investments made in the rice plantation. Mr. Usua prayed for God's guidance and protection over the Chairman as he continues to lead Ibiono Ibom towards greater development.
