Council Chairman Fetes Pupils...Donates Uniforms, Sandals




The Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Asuakak Umoh , is set to mark his 100 days in office with the commissioning of several projects beginning with the distribution of 550 school uniforms and sandals to pupils from four public primary schools in the area.


The distribution, which took place on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Primary School, Nsan,  cuts across school pupils from Government School, Use Ndon, Christian Primary School, Ikot Usen, St Francis School, Atai Ibiaku and Primary School, Nsan.


Speaking during the event, Umoh said the event is to mark his 100 days in office, while reiterating his commitment to serving his people and providing them with the necessary tools to succeed.



He added that education is the bedrock of development and he is committed to investing in the future of Ibiono Ibom children.


The Council Boss pointed out that the reason behind the distribution of uniforms to pupils is to support the Governor's Arise Agenda and Commended the Governor, Pst Umo Eno (PhD) for the building of Arise model school in Ikot Ekop, Ibiono Ibom LGA. He assured his commitment to prioritize the welfare of the Primary School teachers.


On his part, the Vice Chairman of Ibiono Ibom, Hon Mercy Ubon urged pupils to be great ambassadors to the society. She further appreciated the Chairman for not neglecting the Educational sector in Ibiono Ibom. 


Also, the International President of IWADU, Otuekong Prince Godwin Okon applauded the Chairman for putting smiles on the faces of the pupils. He also appreciated him for replicating the Arise Agenda of Pst Umo Bassey Eno(PhD)


Speaking on behalf of the Stakeholders in the Zone, Prof Enefiok Essien alongside the Former Vice Chairman of Ibiono Ibom, Hon Bassey Eyibio hailed Asuakak Umoh's led administration for the impacting representation since his assumption of office. Sued for continuity in service delivery. 


Others who spoke include, the Leader of the 8th Legislative Council, Rt Hon Idorenyin Umoh, PDP Chapter Chairman, Comr Unyime Leo ,  the PRO of Traditional Rulers Council, Chief Daniel Okon Essien, NUT Chairman, Ibiono Ibom,  Mr Edet Akpan, in their various speeches, commended the Chairman for his great initiatives, solicited for the renovation and provisions of rest room for staff and pupils of Primary School Nsan.    


Reacting on behalf of the pupils, Saviour Essien a pupil of Primary School, Nsan and Head Teacher, Mrs Jessie Edet expressed their gratitude to Umoh for his kind gesture, which is expected to have a positive impact on their academic performance.
