Aniekan Bassey Storms Uruan, Mobilises APC Base for Tinubu, Umo Eno Ahead of 2027

Senator Aniekan Bassey of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District has intensified grassroots mobilization for the All Progressives Congress (APC), rallying party faithful in Uruan Local Government Area to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Senator made the call during a statewide APC stakeholders’ meeting held at Southern Uruan Ward II, Ekim Enen, where he charged party members to close ranks and strengthen the party's political structure across the ward and beyond.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Bassey described politics as a “game of numbers, structure, and participation,” stressing that sustained development can only be guaranteed through strategic political engagement.

He commended Governor Umo Eno for what he described as “unprecedented, people-centred governance” under the ARISE Agenda, noting that the administration’s projects have left visible and measurable impacts on communities across Akwa Ibom State.

“Governor Umo Eno’s projects are not abstract promises; they are visible, practical, and life-touching. From infrastructure to human capital development, the evidence is everywhere,” Bassey declared.

The lawmaker urged party members to take full advantage of the ongoing APC membership e-registration exercise using their National Identification Number (NIN), while also calling on eligible citizens to participate actively in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter registration process.

“These are not routine exercises. They are strategic steps toward securing victory in 2027. Political power belongs to those who are registered, mobilised and ready,” he said.

In separate remarks, party leaders Mr. Effiong Eyo Effiong and Hon. Joseph Asuquo praised Senator Bassey’s unwavering loyalty to Governor Umo Eno and his consistent role in advancing the ARISE Agenda at the grassroots level.

They described the Senator as a stabilising force within the APC, noting that his interventions and empowerment initiatives have earned him deep acceptance within the ward.

According to them, “beneficiaries of Senator Bassey’s programmes are visible across Akwa IbomState,” adding that the ward remains firmly committed to delivering massive votes for the APC, Governor Umo Eno, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

The meeting attracted top party stakeholders, political appointees, aides to the Governor, and ward executives, including Mr. Etim Okon, Hon. Mary Etim, Mr. Joseph Edem, Mr. Kokoette Brendan, and Mr. Uwem Edet, among others.
