PPMC, Civil Defence Join Forces for Improved Service Delivery in Akwa Ibom

Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Petroleum Products Monitoring Committee (PPMC), Hon. Godwin Ekpo and members of the committee has met with the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Akwa Ibom State Command to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery.


Speaking during the meeting at the command headquarters in Uyo on tuesday, Hon Ekpo while welcoming the new state Commandant, comdt Geraldine Sixtus Abetianbe to Akwa Ibom State, emphasized the importance of working together to achieve the committee's goals and targets.


The Committee Chairman, appreciated the command for their support to the committee in the last one year, announced their commitment to work in the interest of the Akwa Ibom Publics.


Responding, the NSCDC state Commandant, Comdt. Geraldine Abetianbe, who has served in various capacities, including as Division Officer in Calabar South, Bakassi , Ebonyi and Ohafia, praised Governor Umo Eno's empowerment initiatives in the state, pledged his command's support for the committee to achieve it's objectives. 


The 17th Commandant of the NSCDC Akwa Ibom State command, also urged the PPMC to help curb adulterated petroleum products in the state, which harm motorists, the environment and called for infrastructure development under the ARISE Agenda. 


She further added that, the command has been actively involved in various initiatives, including training personnel on emergency rescue techniques and deploying officers to maintain law and order during protests. 


In attendance at the courtesy call were, members of the Akwa Ibom State Petroleum products monitoring committee ( PPMC) and officers of NSCDC, Akwa Ibom State command .
