APC Statewide Ward Meeting: Rep Ime Okon Champions Total Support for Gov Eno, Tinubu Re-election... Makes Strong Case for Sen. Akpabio

What was meant to be a routine APC statewide meeting in Ibiono Ibom Ward 4 on Friday quickly morphed into a full-blown mobilisation ground, as the Member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency, Hon. (Barr.) Ime Bassey Okon, threw his weight squarely behind Governor Umo Bassey Eno’s 2027 re-election bid.

Addressing party faithfuls at the Primary School, Atai Ibiaku, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, during the meeting held on January 30, 2026, Rep Okon charged constituents to close ranks, energise the party structure at the grassroots and deliver massive votes for Governor Umo Eno and the APC in the next general elections.

He urged the people to strictly heed the Governor’s directive by intensifying efforts to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and APC membership cards, stressing that professed loyalty to the Governor and the party would be meaningless without translating it into actual votes at the polls.

“Ibiono Ibom local government must seize this opportunity to correct the mistake of 2023. We must support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, and morally support Senate President Godswill Akpabio for re-election in 2027. Let us get our PVCs and be ready to return massive votes to the APC,” he said.

Rep Okon described Governor Eno as a leader driven by God’s spirit, pointing to the spread of developmental projects across Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, despite the area’s voting pattern in the last elections.

He noted that the governor’s style of governance has remained inclusive, touching communities across the state without discrimination, and urged Ward 4 residents to reciprocate the goodwill by supporting the APC overwhelmingly in 2027.

According to the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs, the next election presents an opportunity for the people to pull all political support behind the APC in appreciation of the massive, life-touching projects and programmes executed by the governor, stressing that what lies ahead surpasses what has been seen so far.

Rep Okon assured that he would continue to partner relevant federal and state government agencies, as well as organisations, with humility, to offer his constituents effective and selfless representation.

Leaders and stakeholders of Ward 4, in their responses, thanked the federal lawmaker for being a consistent champion of support for the governor and for sustaining same. They pledged total loyalty to the APC and reaffirmed their commitment to mobilising support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and other APC candidates.

The meeting attracted several political heavyweights in the ward, including the Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government, Rt. Hon. Asuakak Umoh; Ibiono Ibom APC Chapter Chairman, Hon. Umo Ekop; Akparawa Okon Imeh; International President of IWADU Otuekong, Godwin Okon; Councilors, Supervisors and Ward PAs to the Governor as well as other prominent ward leaders.
