DR. DORCAS ESSET INDUCTED AS A FELLOW NIGERIAN ANTHROPOLOGICAL & SOCIOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION

Wife of the member representing Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency, Dr. Dorcas Esset has been inducted as a Fellow of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Association (NASA).

The induction, is part of the activities of the 30th Annual Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Association (NASA) Conference.

The theme of this year's conference - The Sociology of Police-Public Relations in Nigeria : Socio-economic and Cultural Agenda For Sustainable Development which is hosted at the Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano will span from Sunday 2nd - Wednesday 5th November, 2025.

While reeling her citation, it revealed that, Dr. Dorcas Esset bagged a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Sociology from the University of Calabar, Calabar. Her desire for more academic qualifications prompted her to enrol for her second degree where she was awarded with Master of Science (M.Sc) in Rural and Community Development and she crowned it all by bagging the prestigious Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Rural Community and Social Development - both certifications from University of Uyo, Uyo.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has relieved two aides of their duties with immediate effect, the state government announced on Monday. AKIRS secures N1.2b judgement against Ardent Energy Services LTD ....warns against tax evasion

The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) has secured a landmark judgement against Ardent Energy Services Ltd, an oil servicing company operating in Akwa Ibom State. In a judgement delivered on July 3, 2025 at the Revenue Court of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo, by the Presiding Revenue Judge, Maureen-Idongesit M. Udoka, the court ordered the defendant to pay to the Akwa Ibom State Government, the sum of N1.2bilion, including penalty and interest on the principal sum. The judgement was in consequence to Suit No. Rue/77C/2022, filed by AKIRS. With this judgement, which is a major milestone in AKIRS tax compliance drive, the agency warns taxpayers to willingly comply to their civic obligations of always paying their taxes as and when due as there was no hiding place for defaulters.
