SSDC Boss, Usoro Akpabio, Partners Presidency at High-Level Forum on Regional Development

 



Abuja — The Managing Director of the South South Development Commission (SSDC), Ms. Usoro Akpabio, on Thursday joined key figures from the Presidency, federal ministries, and international development agencies at a high-level stakeholder engagement on regional development held at the Centre for Counterterrorism, Office of the National Security Adviser, Abuja.

The forum, convened to drive inclusive and sustainable development across Nigeria’s regions, was attended by top government officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.






Other dignitaries at the engagement included the Minister of Regional Development, Hon. Abubakar Momoh; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Regional Development, Dr. Mariam Masha.

International and national development stakeholders were also in attendance, among them the National Coordinator of the National Counterterrorism Centre (NCTC), Major General Adamu Garba Laka; UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Mohammed Malick Fall; UNICEF Representative in Nigeria, Ms. Wafaa Saeed; and the Representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sir Olusegun Adekunle.

The engagement, one of the week’s major development-focused events, provided a crucial platform for dialogue on strengthening regional structures, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and promoting sustainable socio-economic growth across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
