AKHA Speaker Condoles Paul Ekpo Over Demise Of Wife



The Speaker, Akwa Ibom House of Assembly ( AKHA ) Rt.Hon.Elder Udeme Otong, yesterday led serving and former members of the Assembly members to the funeral service, organized by the Winner Chapel in honour of Deaconess Vivian Ekpo,the late wife of the member for Etinan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja, Obong Paul Ekpo.

At Comprehensive Secondary school grounds, Nkana, Etinan Local Government Area where the ceremony took place,the Speaker, flanked by his wife, Deaconess Margaret, said in a condolence message, that the leadership and membership of the Assembly were sadden by the sudden demise of  Deaconess Vivian Ekpo who was a devout Christian.

Rt. Hon. Otong, accompanied by his Deputy, Rt. Hon.Kufre Edidem, the Leader of the House, Hon. Sunday Johnny amongst others, noted with regret that Vivian while alive served our dear country meritoriously in many Federal Establishments including the National Open University of Nigeria, Uyo, where she died in active service as an Assistant Registrar.

The Speaker, noted with dismay that the sudden demise of Vivian to the great beyond has deprived Obong Ekpo of a dependable adviser, confidant and a source of his strength.

He urged Ekpo and his bereaved family members to be consoled that their late wife and mother lived a morally upright life, noting that those who died in the lord shall live again and reign forever.

The Speaker, prayed God to grant the soul of the  deceased eternal rest in peace and as well comfort and strengthen Ekpo and his children at this period of grieve.#####

Financial Impropriety, Abuse Of Power: AKHA Receives Petition Against Ikono Chairman

  The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today during Plenary received a petition against the Council Chairman of Ikono, Hon. Otobong Essien, where the Councillors have accused her of misconduct in the discharge of her official duties.
